• Cold shooting in the second quarter doomed Del Norte High’s upset bid Thursday night, as the Warriors fell at Arcata 61-43. Del Norte is now 1-4 in conference contests, 13-10 overall. Del Norte’s junior varsity and freshman teams both lost to the Tigers as well. Tonight, Del Norte’s boys squad will play host to Arcata, with tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
• The Del Norte High wrestling team made short work of Hoopa Valley Wednesday in dual-meet action at Thunen Gymnasium. James Gensaw Jr., Ben Weiland, Colton Schaad, Braydan Johnson, Aaron Burger and Davion Johnson all won via pin. In girls’ action, Karlye Dodson’s pin led Del Norte to a 24-12 win.

Brooklyn Carter scored 19 points Tuesday, as the Del Norte High girls’ basketball team picked up a 49-42 Big Five victory over Fortuna, its first conference win of the season. Tonight, the Warriors will travel to Eureka for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference battle against St. Bernard’s High. Both of the Warrior junior varsity and freshmen teams also picked up victories over the Huskies Tuesday.

Hi everybody my name is Dobby and I’m one of the new Pound Puppies. I got lucky and after I got weaned from my momma (pic in the comments) I got to go into a foster home with some dogs, kids & even some farm animals. My foster momma says I’m doing amazing on potty training. I maybe have one accident a day. I’m learning about this whole crate training thing…I don’t really like it so I protest for maybe 10 minutes when I get put in at night. I love to run and play with the other dogs (big & little) and I’m working on not being afraid of all the other animals at the farm and not to bark at them. I’m learning my name and coming when asked to. When it comes to inside time, I know where to go lay down when told.
