I was naive and terribly uninformed. My beautiful five-year-old dog, Gracie, caught Lyme disease from a suspected tick bite. I always thought that was a rural issue. I was wrong. Even though she was being treated and under veterinary care, she succumbed to kidney failure. I’m heartbroken but want my other urban pet owners to be aware and take preventative measures.
