Melissa Larkin Schultz, creator of LarkSong Studio, has been teaching private voice lessons for 10 years. She holds an undergraduate degree in music from the University of Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada) and a master's degree in vocal performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Schultz is an accomplished performer, equally comfortable in the concert hall, chamber choral groups an
d the operatic stage. She has appeared in performances throughout the United States and Canada. Schultz is currently active as a performer and draws from her own experiences as part of the teaching process. Schultz welcomes voice students of all ages. Lessons are designed to provide the student with a solid technical foundation in the art of singing and will help the student improve in areas such as: breathing, posture, vocal range and flexibility, as well as an increased understanding in the areas of musicality, interpretation, and style. Lessons provide an excellent opportunity to grow as a singer, whether the student plans to sing primarily as a soloist or in a choral setting. Former students have gone on to begin undergraduate degrees in music, attend all-state choirs, perform lead roles in school and community musicals, sing as choir section leaders and church soloists. Musikgarten Classes are available for babies (0-14 months), toddlers (15 months - 3 years), and preschoolers (3-5 yrs). All classes require a parent/caretaker to be present with the child. Classes use fun musical songs, games and dance to develop listening skills, coordination, social skills, emotional bond with parent, pitch and rhythm pattern recognition and language skills. Lessons are available in 30 and 60 minute time slots. Voice Lessons….are available for all ages. Students must be able to match pitch in order to be accepted in the studio. The first lesson will be used as an assessment of the student's range, capability, and goals. Should a prospective student decide to continue with regular voice lessons, the student will need to read the studio policy and complete the contact information section on the last page. Payment is expected at the first regular lesson. Monthly tuition will be pro-rated for any student starting after the first week of the month. Piano lessons….are available for beginner students ages 5 and up…this includes adults!!! Curricula varies based on age/concentration level of the student. I do require a minimum semester long commitment and regular practicing, so parents, please be the judge of whether your child is ready to begin piano lessons. A fun rewards system is used for students ages 5-12. Please read the studio policy and bring the completed contact information page to your first lesson. Regular monthly tuition:
