It’s that time of year again! Spring is just a month away and we are looking forward to working with more new clients this coming year.

Last year we did mastering for many different clients both local and international. We did a CD for a French jazz group, a local alternative punk artist, three local Lorain County rock artists, and even a Broadway Musical star from the 1980s.

We’ve also made some new software purchases that can make your projects sound great! We are especially proud of acquiring Izotope RX-10, the latest version of the groundbreaking noise reduction software. It’s handy for all sorts of things, whether it’s removing coughs from a 1983 piano recital (something a client recently requested) or making an LP or tape transfer sound pristine.

We also added additional “bass trapping” to the acoustics of our mastering studio and added a new wide screen computer monitor.

We can only imagine what new artists and groups we’ll come across this year. We can’t wait. Our primary focus is acoustic music, but we are familiar with all genres and anxious to show you what we can do for your project.

All in all, our work continues to be fulfilling and exciting, and we look forward to the possibility of working with you this year.

We have been working on this for the past two and a half years and it is finally finished. My tech wiz, Rhys Davies, built the whole unit himself and wired it. We had lot of changes along the way but it works GREAT and we got exactly what we wanted. S/N -95.5 dBM, Distortion .0005%, Frequency Response 20 t0 20 KHz +/- .5 dB. It is built in an old "industrial control unit" shell that we got from the surplus store. It is built using the MTC board from here https://www.ka-electronics.com/shop/. I am very proud of Rhys, he is a junior at Ohio Northern University studying electronic engineering and has worked here for 4.5 years as an intern.

Picture of our updated mastering studio. My interns and I have been working on this since the beginning of summer. New Bass Traps, all wiring redone, new setup of the mastering desk and all equipment checked for proper operation and phase. BIG JOB FOR MY INTERNS AND THEY DID PROFESSIONAL LEVEL WORK!!!

STUDENT INTERN NEEDED…NOW!
Acoustik Musik and Room with a View Productions are located in Oberlin. We have been in business for 26 years. We are looking for a unique individual who can assist us while also learning all sorts of cool skills. We do audio mastering, restoration of audio materials, video productions, on location video and audio recordings of concerts and commercials and many other related tasks. We also have an eBay business selling audio, video, and optical equipment. Training will be provided but some basic knowledge of audio and video production is a plus. We are looking for someone to work 10 to 15 hours a week to start but with the possibility of more work as needed. This is an ideal position for a college student who is either part time or taking a gap year. The hours are flexible, but we do need someone who can be here consistently on a weekly basis. Current, valid driver’s license is required.

Interns over the 26 years we have been in business have learned many valuable skills here – from graphic design to electronics repair and audio mastering, to working with real clients. Many have gone on to successful careers in their chosen fields.
