Congrats to Eastside for being named an NSPA Online Pacemaker finalist today! PV Student Publication was one of last year’s 13 recipients of the prestigious national award. Hopefully we can make it 2 years in a row for NJ!!! Eastside also won one back in 2016.

In the wake of the EXCITING NEWS that New Voices was signed into law by Gov. Murphy yesterday, we've issued a joint statement with the Student Press Law Center and Journalism Education Association. Teamwork truly made the dream work as we became the 15th New Voices state. We're eager to educate everyone in our state about this bill as well as help other states advocate for it.

Thanks to Tom McHale, John Tagliareni, the Student Press Law Center, and countless others who helped make this happen. Truly a monumental day in the history of scholastic journalism in NJ!!! BREAKING: Our New Voices bill to protect First Amendment rights of student journalists in NJ passed in both our state Senate (39-0) and Assembly (65-0) yesterday by unanimous votes!!!! Now it goes to Governor Murphy's desk to be signed into law. We're SO close!!!!

Our amended New Voices bill resoundingly passed in our Senate by a 35-1 vote last week. Optimism abounds that it'll pass in our Assembly and then reach the governor's desk again & be signed into law in the coming weeks. Let's goooo!
