Anybody else have good posture while tracking guitar? Me neither. I'm either hunched over or leaning back in my chair until my back hurts. And don't even ask me about playing the guitar while standing.

New drum shoes! I've wanted a pair of these Sambas forever but couldn't until I ran through my Vratim pair. They were well worth the wait. I'm looking forward to breaking them in this winter.

I didn't really understand the saying "drums and bass are the rhythm section" until I picked up a bass guitar for the first time. They're so percussive! The unforgettable feeling of playing through a thundering bass amp is unmatched.

Shout out to ACD Unlimited for building a killer set of pedals! These beauties are beyond my wildest dream. It's almost a shame to step on them. LOL You have to see them in person to truly appreciate the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into these works of art. Bravo.

Drummers - As much as I hate to admit it, you got to get those crash cymbals up and away from the tom mics if you have any love for your live sound engineers. Help them make you sound like a god by helping them remove cymbal bleed in your mics. Just place your cymbals higher, hit them softer, and beat the hell out of your drums like they owe you money.

Any other tricks for getting the best sound out of your live mics?

We were hoping to have this completed but it looks like we'll have to wait until spring to install the new entry way into the studio. A nice big door for easy load-in right into the live room will make these sessions a breeze.

The right chair for guitar tracking is whichever chair the guitarist feels the most comfortable tracking in. And then again, sometimes the guitarists prefer standing. Either way, we're after the best performance possible and more often than not, this chair gets the job done.

Do you record standing up or sitting down?

I love hosting a great Ludwig sparkle kit in the studio. This 26" kick drum was like a cannon. Congrats to on a killer single. Coming out soon.

I fall in love with Epiphones over and over again and yet I still don't own one. Either way, I had a blast working with Children Of The Sun in the studio. Can't wait to show you what we put together.

Going six months without a set of drums in my house while we were moving was torture. It's been a long time since I couldn't sit down and play any time I felt like it. Glad to have it set up again.

After trying out a more open concept for vocal tracking, we decided to build a dedicated vocal booth in the new studio instead. With the high ceilings and open hardwood floors, the studio wasn't a great option. No matter, we spent a lot of time making sure the new booth would be a comfortable place to hang out and track vocals.

Testing these out in our new and much larger drum room has been a dream come true. These Neumann's were worth the wait. Paired up with a great drummer and great cymbals will really make these shine.

If I had to pick an instrument other than drums to perform live, I'd love to try bass. Just something about that crowd shaking low end that would be fun.

The new chill spot for bands in the studio has a pretty good view. Gotta get some furniture and twinkle lights to set the mood and we'll be ready to go.

What else should be put out on the band deck?

They may look funny but these diffusers placed on the backwall behind my listening position make a huge difference. There was this echo coming off the back wall before but now the sound scatters instead of hitting me in the back of the head. It's a more enjoyable listening experience.
