The Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, which it will be held at The New Elizabeth Baptist Church. This church is located at 2332 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport. This funeral will begin at 12:00 noon.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: DWI CHECKPOINT TO BE HELD FRIDAY
The Shreveport Police Department will conduct a Multi-Agency DWI Checkpoint starting on June 28, 2024, at 10:00 PM and ending on June 29, 2024, at 3:00 AM in West Shreveport. This checkpoint, headed up by the SPD DWI Unit, will target drivers who may be driving while impaired, although it is not limited to this particular offense.
Officers working at this safety checkpoint will briefly stop each vehicle that comes through to ensure driver compliance with the law. The construction and operation of the checkpoint will follow the guidelines specified in the Louisiana State Police Roadside Safety Checkpoint Manual. Additionally, the Regional Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC) “BAT Mobile” will be utilized during this operation for Breath Alcohol Testing.
Our law enforcement partners, including the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police, will assist in the operation of this checkpoint. This operation will be funded by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission
BREAKING NEWS: 17 SFD UNITS WORKING A MASSIVE FIRE ON HOLLY STREET
On Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 3:34 PM, the Shreveport Fire Department received a report
of a house on fire in the 3100 block of Holly Street. Firefighters from Station 5 arrived on
scene within three (3) minutes and reported smoke and flames coming from a two-story
residential structure.
A defensive exterior attack of the fire was ordered for the safety of firefighters when
conditions in the interior of the house deteriorated and what was reported to be
ammunition, became involved in the fire.
It took the efforts of twenty-eight (28) firefighters operating eleven (11) units to bring this
incident under control. The house was occupied at the time of the fire. The occupant
safely escaped prior to the arrival of the fire department. The American Red Cross was
contacted to assist with their immediate needs. No injuries to firefighters were reported.
The official cause of the fire and full extent of the damage remains under investigation.
BREAKING: RAPPER JULIO FOOLIO FATALLY SHOT AND 3 OTHERS INJURED
Rapper, Julio Foolio, has passed away.
His attorney tells me he was shot and killed in Tampa.
His attorney says he and Foolio’s mother are currently speaking with detectives in Tampa and rumors are true. He was shot and killed early this morning just before 5 AM.
Foolio is a popular artist from Jacksonville Florida and is known for his controversial rap lyrics.

BREAKING NEWS: OVER 20 SFD UNITS ON SCENE OF A COMMERCIAL FIRE AT MY SPA MY WAY
On Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 9:42 PM, the Shreveport Fire Department received a report of a commercial building fire in the 700 block of East Kings Highway at My Spa My Way. Less than five minutes later, firefighters from Station 11 arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke coming from the roof of the one-story structure.
It took the efforts of thirty-one (31) firefighters operating thirteen (13) units to bring the fire under control at 10:21 PM. The business was closed for the evening and the building was
unoccupied at the time of the fire. No injuries to firefighters or citizens were reported.

BOOKING REPORT: MAN ARRESTED FOR GRABBING A JUVENILE BY THE NECK, THROWING HER ON THE GROUND AND THREATENING HER WITH A FIREARM The Shreveport Police Department has arrested 43-year-old Brandon Leviston on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic abuse battery. The arrest follows an incident on May 29, in which Leviston allegedly grabbed a juvenile household member by the neck, threw her to the ground, and threatened her with a handgun. On June 17, detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit took Leviston into custody in the 700 block of Bernard Boulevard. He has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail. The Shreveport Police Department encourages anyone experiencing domestic violence to seek help. Support and resources are available for victims. BOOKING REPORT: CONVICTED FELON WITH WARRANTS FOUND IN THE JOLIE APARTMENTS AFTER A SUSPICIOUS PERSON CALL Shreveport Police officers have arrested 40-year-old Tony Callihan following a call regarding a suspicious person in the 1000 block of Quail Creek at the Jolie Apartments. Upon investigation, officers discovered that Callihan had an outstanding warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Callihan was taken into custody without incident and has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail. The Shreveport Police Department remains vigilant in its efforts to ensure the safety and security of our community. BOOKING REPORT: HIGH-SPEED CHASE ENDS WITH WANTED SUSPECT BEHIND BARS On June 16, 2024, Shreveport Police officers conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 49 near Hollywood Avenue after a vehicle passed an on-duty officer at a high rate of speed. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated onto Terry Bradshaw Passway, reaching speeds over 100 mph and disregarding the officer’s lights and sirens. The pursuit concluded near Jewella Avenue when the vehicle blew out a tire and finally stopped. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Ahmad Taylor, was found to have outstanding warrants for multiple traffic offenses. Taylor was arrested and charged with the following:- Aggravated flight from an officer- Reckless operation of a motor vehicle- Driving under suspension Taylor’s vehicle was impounded, and he was booked into the Shreveport City Jail. The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to maintaining the safety of our roadways and community. BOOKING REPORT: WOMAN ARRESTED FOR STABBING ANOTHER PERSON ON WOODLAWN AVENUE Just after midnight on June 17, 2024, Shreveport Police officers responded to a call regarding an assault and battery in the 3100 block of Woodlawn Avenue. Upon arrival, officers arrested 48-year-old Michelle Mitchell, who had stabbed a household member with a knife during the incident. Further investigation revealed that Mitchell had outstanding warrants for entering and remaining after being forbidden, as well as resisting arrest. Mitchell was taken into custody for the outstanding warrants and the stabbing incident, and she has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail. The victim of the stabbing is expected to recover from their injuries. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty. #newsatitsbest

BOOKING REPORT: CONVICTED FELON ARRESTED FOR DRUGS AND A FIREARM On June 16, 2024, at approximately 9:55 p.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to a call regarding a parking complaint in the 1500 block of Magnolia Avenue. During the investigation, officers arrested 25-year-old LaQuinta Robinson, who was found to have outstanding warrants for resisting an officer, interfering with law enforcement investigation, no driver’s license, and multiple traffic violations. Further investigation revealed that Robinson was armed with a firearm and in possession of a Schedule II narcotic. As a convicted felon, Robinson is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Additionally, the firearm was found to be illegally altered to function as a fully automatic weapon. Robinson has been arrested and charged with the following offenses:- Illegal carrying of a weapon- Possession of Schedule II narcotics- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon- Handling of a machine gun The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to maintaining the safety and security of our community.
