Hello! While trying to make all things back of house work, I thought, what better place to showcase it than here, on the Joy Talk Show - Journey of You FB Page! We all have to admit we have a learning curve if we want others to see that doing the work works! So, here goes. I am not sure HOW your response will come into the back of the house, or IF this will even make it to the FB Page. But, I'm willing to be vulnerable and give it a shot!

I love Dr. Pamela George's new book, Sparkle: Your Seven-Step Guide to A Joy-Infused Life! She encourages readers to write notes in the book and make it their own. Writing in books is a new venture for me, but I thought, "Sure! Why not? Don't mind if I do!" And I got my highlighter out.

She talks about traps we can fall into that steal our joy or cause it to leak out and how to identify those traps. One of those traps is the act of comparing ourselves to others, evoking a feeling of inadequacy. She shares how to identify the feeling that subtly creeps up on us when we are feeling inadequate, "a sense of shrinking, a feeling of smallness." By becoming aware of our emotions, we can better address them instead of leaving them lying in the darkness, the unknown, and wondering why we are feeling so sad or lonely.
