Check out our latest interview with Dr. Matteo Zallio: award-winning designer, inclusive design activist, and senior research associate at the University of Cambridge. Dr. Zallio has done incredible research on how the built environment influences our perception of space, our behavior, our interaction with other people, and ultimately, our mood and happiness. He and his team have created some wonderful tools to help designers and architects add diversity, equity, and inclusion. We dig into the research that led to the creation of the IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility) toolkit, and how it can help designers ask the right questions and present the best solutions. Plus, a sneak peek into the not-to-distant future to explore Inclusive Design in the Metaverse! Get ready to start designing safe and inclusive virtual, immersive environments.

In this series, we will be discussing specific examples of design techniques that make a positive difference for people to live with certain human conditions. The more a designer understands the client and community, the more effective and respectful the design will be.

A month or so ago I had done an interview with a friend's son for his class about businesses trying to do some good. That was all I knew. What I did not know was that they would submit it to this - Business Innovations for Good - for their Flourish Award. Won't know until this time next year if we will be among the finalists but I guess just getting "published" is something to be excited about. It is an U.N.-backed student initiative. Pretty cool.

Go Devin!
