Keeping with driving metaphor, there was too much traffic on my road last week. I forgot to share her episode with y’all! Here we are! It’s all good.
Diana’s story is universal! It’s similar to mine. Motherhood stuck a stick in our spokes. It sent us flying over the handle bars and we landed flat on our faces.
We both stood back up, dusted ourselves off, whispered wtf, shouted WTF, and figured out how to become the women we wanted to be.

Not only did Kenna’s husband ask for a divorce over eggs, but, time would reveal there was someone else.
The other woman was Kenna’s friend and neighbor. A for sure “this can’t be my life” moment.
The double betrayal would take years for Kenna to unravel. In fact, the process brought her to another definitive moment. A year ago now, Kenna was diagnosed with ADHD. Having this diagnosis has helped Kenna understand herself on such a deeper level.

The moment of the interview that I used for this snippet, was a time Karen found herself enveloped in darkness. She was going through a divorce, had been laid off, and was studying for the bar. The darkness tried to eclipse her light, but inner wisdom and knowing, led her to find one good thing that day. She found one good thing: perfectly cooked egg.
Every day for over 25 years now, Karen has found 1 good thing that day. I dubbed her an “early adopter” of a gratitude practice.

In my lifetime, I’ve had the magnificent luck to have lived in a small town, mid-size city, and a big city. There’s a certain magic to a small town. Things are slower and more intentional. There’s an inter-dependence and collaboration.

My favorite moment of this week’s interview with @meet_cp was a very Texan moment. Chelsea was explaining the history of her hometown, Blessing, and almost said “Bless your heart” instead of “God’s blessing”. Funny stuff right there.
In addition to laughing together we dive into Chelsea’s story of being from a small town, calling off her wedding and moving to San Antonio.
The migration of kids from smaller towns to big cities, for either college or work, is a universally known phenomenon. That’s not to say, moving from your small town is not an easy thing. Kudos to her for following her intuition and heart to learn about herself and the bigger world.
