🇺🇸 Today, we honor Medal of Honor recipient Chief Edward C. Byers Jr. for his heroic actions during a hostage rescue in Afghanistan on December 8-9, 2012.

Byers, fully exposed to enemy fire, cleared a path for his team, engaged enemy guards, and protected the hostage with his own body. His courage and selflessness saved the hostage and several teammates. ⭐️

Please join us October 2-5 as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of 3rd Ranger Battalion and the 75th Ranger Regiment.

After the invasion of Grenada during Operation Urgent Fury, 3rd Ranger Battalion was reactivated October 3, 1984, and stationed at Fort Moore, Georgia, with its World War II heritage to serve as its lineage.

In addition to activating 3rd Ranger Battalion, the 75th Ranger Regiment was formed and activated as well. Colonel Wayne A. Downing was selected as the first colonel of the 75th Ranger Regiment. He is technically and officially titled as the third Regimental Commander after ceremonial commanders Robert Rogers and William O. Darby.

This was the historical crux for so many who came into the military for the first time, and for some, like me who re-entered the military to fight. As a native New Yorker and someone who was working for a three letter agency in DC when the Pentagon was hit, 9/11 is a moment so important in my life its like my children being born. This nation should NEVER forget how many paid the ultimate price for a fanatical hatred of our way of life. We must come together as a nation, again and stand strong against those planning our demise in the shadows again.
