* Those interested and preparing to study music in college
* Anyone desiring to develop their present ability to improvise
* Anyone interested in creating their own music
* Anyone interested in performing gospel, popular, jazz or the blues
= Goals and objectives
* Students will develop and increase their understanding of harmony, chord structure, scales, and rhythm, and
how to apply these to improvisation
* Students will enhance their ability to listen and hear, to analyze and understand the blues, jazz and other forms of music.
* Students will gain or increase their ability to improvise and compose
= Requirements
It will not be necessary to be able to read music in order to qualify for the classes. Thce classes will be fun, but they will not be easy. Therefore a sincere committment and willingness to learn, grow and attend all sessions is of great importance.

Student should have some established knowledge and control of their instruments. How to play your instrument should be learned elsewhere.
= Class Levels
There are four levels of classes. Each level will consist of eight on-hour classes. Classes include both paperwork and instrumental playing but not always both during the same class. Class size will be limited to 10. In addition to offering individual lessons, two summer classes have been set up for Tuesdays in July and August 2011 -- designed as a way for you to drop in and get a sampling of the instruction. High school music teachers and administrators are invited sit in on one session free of charge. All others may attend any number of sessions for a reduced rate of $20 per session.
