As many of you know, I changed my career up a little, going from the health and wellness industry into the business industry a few years ago.

I recently met a delightful lady at the coffee shop who told me how much she loves my Facebook posts.

It was such a joy to know I’m making a positive impression!

As many of you know, I transitioned from the fitness and wellness space into the business world a few years ago.

Matt is a talented cabinet maker who pours his heart into creating beautiful, custom cabinets.

He knows the importance of social media, so he posts every day, showcasing his craftsmanship and engaging with his followers...

but despite his efforts

🌍 Marketing, A Sense of Place, and a Four-Season Economy

As our little piece of the north evolves, it's crucial for our local businesses to harness this opportunity to create and drive a four-season economy. This approach will lead to consistent year-round revenue, increased community prosperity, and (our hope) a greater sense of sustainable workforce well-being.

I’ll be honest. I get frustrated when I see businesses wasting their social media by posting about their latest sale, only to complain that their shoppers are just bargain hunters. They could be doing so much more, not just for their own business, but for their business district and entire region. They could be winning the long game.

Your business needs to stand out not only individually but also as part of a region. When we talk about a brand, we're talking about identity and values. We're talking about connecting with customers on an emotional level and embracing the “trusted friend” role as well as the “knowledgeable expert” role.

When you consistently communicate about your products from the right perspective and with the right price, your business will easily be set apart from the competition.

But here’s the catch: your large, urban marketing agency is still focused on seasonal tourism (read: inconsistent sales, tied-up housing, and a transient workforce), and your seasonal in-shop worker who posts on social media for you sometimes might be proud of their "likes" but probably isn’t aware of a customer journey, or a sales process, or how to track conversion rates so that you can measure your ROI.

🌟 THE UNEXPECTED LESSON 🌟

The other day, a close friend was presented with a huge, incredible opportunity - a chance to participate in a leadership training event.

However, much like many of us, he hesitated. Why? Because he was overwhelmed by the FEAR OF FEELING LIKE AN IMPOSTER.

His reluctance to seize the opportunity brought to mind a lesson I've learned the hard way myself.

In life, it's easy to fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to others...We see their successes, their confidence, and their seemingly effortless journeys, and we can't help but feel inadequate in comparison.

My friend was focusing on the external perceptions of others and allowing those perceptions to dictate his reality.

As I reflected on his decision, I couldn't help but think of the times I've let fear and self-doubt hold me back from pursuing my own dreams. How many opportunities had I missed out on because I was too afraid to take that first step?

We all have our reasons for hesitating: we may feel we lack the knowledge, the time, or the resources.

But often, these excuses are just that—excuses. In reality, the biggest obstacle we face is often our own mindset.

So, to anyone reading this who has ever hesitated to chase their dreams, start that business, or seize an opportunity because they felt like an imposter, just stop– take a breath, and recognize that growth and success come from embracing challenges, not avoiding them.

Here's to embracing the journey, my friends, wherever it may lead. Are you in?

Business owners give me all kind of excuses to avoid marketing.

They work so hard to build a wildly successful business yet their excuses prevent them from getting more feet in the door-- and cause them to lose more and more potential sales every day!

👉I don't like marketing because it feels too salesy/pushy.
👉I'm tired of running sales to sell things/ sales on social media to get people in my doors. They're just looking for a bargain.
👉I don't have time.
👉I posted on social, I thought everyone would just flock in.

Then they tell me a story about their marketing not working.

They say they've tried EVERYTHING.

Can you relate?

BUT HERE'S THE TRUTH:

Showing up on social media, and talking about your epic sale isn't enough.

In order to really stand out from your competition and get amazing, pre-qualified, loyal customers to buy from you, you need to consistently create high-value content -

🎯content that that makes an emotional connection with them.

When you do that,

And you talk about your goods in the right way, and from the right place,

You'll easily set yourself apart from your competition, and make more sales-- without feeling salesy or pushy and without running discounts.

We've all heard the phrase "I need to get my ducks in a row first" but let's be honest, sometimes it's just a fancy way of saying, "I'll do it later." 😅 Or not at all.

Hey friends, I had a bit of wake-up recently and I wanted to share it with you all.

I used to believe that I didn't have enough time to do certain things consistently – whether it was exercising regularly, making (all the) sales calls, or even just checking in with loved ones. Life always seemed to get in the way, and I'd find myself making excuses for why I couldn't keep up with these important activities.

But then it hit me: consistency is a choice.

I realized that it's not about having an abundance of time, but rather about prioritizing what truly matters. It's about making a conscious decision to allocate time for the things that will enrich my personal or professional life, even when it feels like there aren't enough hours in the day. If there is something I need to outsource in my work or personal life, so be it– It has to be done.

This shift in mindset has gotten me some results and the results fuel more motivation. I've started to carve out small pockets of time each day for the things that move me forward, whether it's a quick workout in the morning, making the necessary number of sales calls for work, or simply sending a text to a friend to let them know I'm thinking of them.

And you know what? It's made a world of difference toward my goals.🎯

So, here's my question for you all: Can you relate? Have you ever felt like you didn't have enough time for something important, only to realize that consistency is a choice?
