**Celebrating International Women's Day**

Welcome to Chijenni's page. I am dedicating today in celebration of International Women's Day! Every year on March 8th, people all over the world come together to honor the political, social, economic, and cultural accomplishments of women.

Participation and engagement are vital to our community. I invite everyone to contribute their narratives, as well as the experiences of powerful women in their lives and how they are changing their communities.

Through our involvement in events, support of women-owned companies, and advocacy my goal going forward is to keep the momentum going all year long in addition to celebrating International Women's Day.

I believe that education can bring about change. As a result, this page acts as a resource for knowledge on gender issues, presenting perspectives on the difficulties women encounter around the world (especially when it comes to mental and emotional well-being) as well as strategies for individuals to become change agents.

I encourage you to keep your head up and share your story and/or initiatives to create a network of support for women worldwide.

Share your inspiring tales of overcoming adversity, and elevate the voices of those who struggle with mental and emotional issues.

Through the hosting of live sessions, I offer a forum for deep discussions and educational experiences.

Let's pledge to change things in honor of International Women's Day and beyond. Every effort matters whether it's by supporting causes, volunteering for groups that support women, or just teaching others and ourselves about gender equality.

By working together, we can eliminate discrimination and the stigma that surrounds mental and emotional illness.

🌟 The Power of Self-Compassion 🌟

In our journey through life, we often encounter challenges and setbacks. It's during these times that the practice of self-compassion becomes a beacon of hope and healing.

Self-compassion is not about self-pity or complacency; it's about treating yourself with the same kindness, understanding, and support you'd offer a good friend.

Take for example a student who didn't do well on a crucial exam. Instead of harsh self-criticism, he or she practices self-compassion by recognizing the effort put into studying and understanding that one exam doesn't define intelligence or worth. This mindset shift will allow the student to approach future exams with a healthier perspective and less anxiety.

Another example is 💞 navigating relationship breakdowns. When a person goes through a tough breakup rather than blaming themselves for the relationship's end, you can practice self-compassion by allowing space for grief and healing, understanding that it's okay to be not okay, and focusing on self-care. This self-compassion journey will lead to a path of personal growth and eventually, readiness to love again.

Self-compassion also plays a crucial role in our relationships with others. When we learn to approach our own mistakes and flaws with kindness and understanding, we naturally extend the same empathy toward others.

🌟 Why Does It Matter

Self-compassion fosters emotional resilience, enabling us to navigate life's ups and downs with more grace and less stress. It helps in reducing anxiety, depression, and self-criticism while increasing happiness, self-worth, and our capacity for empathy and connection with others.

As we delve deeper into the practice of self-compassion, it's important to acknowledge that it's not a one-size-fits-all solution or an overnight fix. It's a continuous process that evolves with our experiences and challenges.

As we reflect on these stories, let's remember that practicing self-compassion can transform our toughest moments into opportunities for growth and healing. Let's be kind to ourselves, acknowledging our shared humanity and the reality that everyone faces challenges. 🌼💖

These are the words of renowned poet, Maya Angelou.

It's been a long time since I have been here but most of you have made me feel special and I thoroughly appreciate you.

Sometimes, we need to take a step back to reevaluate our lives, purposes, and our ambition.

Well, this is to announce that after a series of thoughts, prayers, and nerve-wracking moments, I have finally decided to unveil my NGO.

(Round of applause😂)

Oh well, it's been a long time coming, and the calling to do something extraordinary and fulfilling has never been this strong.

Our NGO would be focused on the mental health of life and hereby help people fight depression through talk shows, events, seminars, and other life-changing activities that would be unveiled to us in due course.

Also, I want to deeply apologize for the break in our weekly series. A lot of you were avid followers and the feedback we got was amazing.

The series would continue soon but not every week as we are trying to explore other areas to help boost the NGO and impact lives.

I trust God to help us on this journey and I pray you to support us as we try to change the narratives.

Throughout my years of being a nurse practitioner, I have come across many patients with one mental health disorder or another.

Many are intelligent and talented but can not get past the stigmatization of mental health because when people hear "mental," they think you are "insane."

I have had to counsel teenagers into seeking help and not being defined by their diagnosis, and I am happy to say that many listened.

Just because you have a mental health disorder does not mean you are abnormal.

We need to get past mental health stigmatization and embrace the people that are suffering. It is hard enough to struggle with one ailment, but to be stigmatized makes it worse.

So today, let us all be kind to one another because you do not know what the next person is going through.

Here is to everyone who is fighting a battle of the mind, stay strong, and if you need to seek help, please do so.

There are days my world appears to be in black and white. Although the sun may be shining, but the gloom over my head seems so thick it becomes difficult for the sun to shin through

As difficult as those days may be, one thing I have learned recently is that no matter how slow the dark clouds move, they will surely give way for the sun to shine again

After the rains comes a beautiful rainbow in the sky and we immediately forget how much it poured.

So to everyone out there that may have a dark cloud over their head right now

I want you to know that you are not alone in this.

There are people with such clouds as well, but with joint force of belief, faith, and trust, the clouds will surely pass.

Do not walk alone, have a robust support system or group that will help you through the storm

Pick up the strength and courage to get up and go for a walk in the beautiful nature

Above all, have five reasons each day to be grateful irrespective of how you are feeling

Aunty Chichi, why don't you talk about marriage and mental health in your show, a lot of people are going through a lot in marriage and they don't know it's is affecting their mentor health (paraphrased)

I am not a marriage counselor but I think she is right, I was once there.
