Diets DO work for weight loss, they just DON’T work to fix the root cause of emotional eating!

Let’s get this straight.

You will always feel like you are hopelessly hopping “on” and “off” the weight loss train as long as you keep thinking that your weight, size, eating healthy food groups, and sticking up o your fitness goals will make you happy.

It’s the exact opposite!!

First you must be HAPPY and THEN you will automatically lose weight, get into a smaller size, want to eat healthier foods, and stick with your fitness goals.

This is what I used to say to myself every single day..

If you know, you know.

Don’t be afraid to talk about it because as Brene Brown says, “shame cannot live in the light”.

Remember, you are the only one thinking in your own mind and you do not have to believe everything you think.

Some of your thoughts might be the very same thoughts that are meant for keep you stuck.

Once I learned that I didn’t have to believe everything that I was thinking, I was able to challenge myself to change my thoughts.

When I was 110 lbs I had zero confidence and when I was 130 lbs I had zero confidence.

My fluctuations in my weight never made a dent on

So many people have it backwards. They think they have to have a better relationship with food so they can stop emotionally eating.

This is just not true.

Wanting to have a better relationship with food means you will have to go on a diet, keep track of your calories or points, or restrict your food groups.

My question to you is: HAVEN'T YOU BEEN FOCUSING ON FOOD FOR YEARS NOW???

🤔 How has focusing on food working for you?

It seems to me like changing your mindset about YOURSELF so that you will naturally WANT to make better food choices makes more sense.

Have you ever tried to work on having a better relationship with yourself?? 🩷

Now is the time to make changes. Not temporary changes like weight loss, I am talking about permanent changes to the CORE of your being.

1. I think that I should always do what others want, expect, or need from me.

2. I think it is my responsibility to take care of everyone around me whether they ask for help or not.

3. I think that should always be a silent listener to everyone’s problems then lay awake all night trying to figure out how to solve them.

4. I think that being a nice person means to never put my own feelings first.

5. I think I should always take care of others before I can focus on myself.

6. I think I should never say “no” to anyone who requests something of me.

7. I think I should never let others down even if that comes with a sacrifice for my own well being.

8. I think I should always nice, smile (even if I really want to cry) and never show any negative feelings. I’ve gotten really good at pretending to be happy and upbeat all the time. No one knows the “real” me.

9. I think should always try to downplay something good that happens in my life because I don’t want to make anyone else feel bad about themselves.

10. I think I should try never ask for help because I don’t want anyone to see me as being needy.

All of the above will make you want to eat when you’re alone.

Last night I had a client tell me that she was approached by a friend who was trying to sell her on to a new diet “system”.

Shakes, bars, pills, and a sensible meal, you know the deal…

My client said: “ Thank you for sharing, I wish you well, and I’m not interested in doing anything like that, I’m on a different journey now.”

It’s felt SOOOO good to hear this!!!

Sadly, years ago, I was that lady.

I sold product after product to all my friends because I was convinced that everyone was as weight focused as ME.

I figured out that I spent
$69,000 dollars trying to lose weight over a 30 year time span.

Talk about a waste of $$$. 🤢

What I’ve learned since is that “weight is a symptom of an underlying problem”.

So, I decided to get off the diet merry-go-round and figure out the root cause of the problem.

No more problem = No more spending $$$ on weigh loss products.

I love sharing how I did this with my self discovery students. 🩷🩷🩷

Hi !!

I'm Coach Lisa and I'm the founder of this Page.

I didn't start this community because I read a book on emotional eating, or because I have decades of experience as a personal fitness trainer, nutrition coach, or Iron Man Athlete....

I started this group because I am a recovered emotional eater who spend decades hiding behind this invisible struggle and I am here to let you know that I SEE YOU.

I see you if you are hiding behind black clothing because you think it makes you look thinner.

I see you if you are telling your grandkids to stand in front of you in a picture to "hide grandma's belly"

I see you if you are telling your husband to hide food from you under lock and key.

I see you if you are feeling peer pressured to go out to for a dinner every week at everybody's favorite restaurant because it's "family tradition" even thought you don't want to eat that much food.

I see you if you tell yourself you're just gonna have one glass of wine just to "take the edge off" only to polish off the whole bottle which leads you to not care about what you're eating anymore.

I see you if you tell yourself "It's just one night, just one meal, just one bite, and who the heck cares anyways because no one is looking at you anyways so what's the difference?"

I SEE YOU....It is my privilege to see you and it is my privilage to "serve". you a dish of the truth.

YOU MATTER.

I spent decades teaching hundreds of people what to eat and then behind closed doors I was secretly binge eating which made me feel really, really bad about myself.

Until one day, when I took a course in self-discovery that literally changed my life.

Over the next 6 years I began to look inward and what I learned that I was living in fear, self doubt, judgement, and that I really didn't like myself very much...

So,I started to work on my self-talk, and began connecting the dots between how I felt about myself and how I was eating behind the scenes.

What I discovered was that I was not craving cookies or chocolate... I was actually craving GUILT!

And... Once I fixed my 'craving' for guilt, my emotional eating habits disappeared!

Today I’m obsessed with self discovery and helping women discover their emotional 'cravings' so that they can fix their problems with overeating forever!

All you have to do is believe 🌻 🌻 🌻
