Julio Borhidan - Photography Rescues A Father

Photography became a home for a father, distressed about the unfortunate things happening to his son.

Julio Borhidan was born in Romania, later moved to Portugal in 2006. Before moving, he learned University Custom Services but resented office work. Hence, left Romania. In Portugal, he works in a restaurant to earn his bread and butter.

Julio's photography journey started due to a unique reason. For most people, photography is a passion. But for Julio, it was more than that.

Photography was a therapy for him. His son, Maxi, suffered from severe heart issues. It is extremely difficult for anyone to see their children in such pain.

At that time, photography rescued Julio. He felt calm while shooting pictures. It acted like his stress-buster.

Julio is a fan of several styles of photography. However, he primarily shoots portrait and macro, and conceptual photography.

As Julio works in a restaurant, he likes to pursue photography as a hobby instead of a profession.

But this didn't keep his work from grabbing the limelight and recognition. His photographs have been published in much local news.

Julio’s one and only dream is to get his son to live a normal and healthy life. He is trying his best to make things better.

He is a brilliant father and a hard-working family man. His family is everything to him. And one thing that has helped him through his adversity, is photography. It kept him sane and fueled his motivation to keep going.

Arif Zaman - Capturing Culture in Albums

Arif was a big fan of cinema in childhood. He was an avid reader with abundant books, and that left an impact on his mind.

It was not big stars or the glamour but the storytelling that attracted him towards cinema.

Reading different stories made Arif realize the diversity around him. He was engulfed with various cultures, religions, people, and rituals.

Arif completed his graduation and post-graduation in International relations from Dhaka University and MBA from Southeast University.

Then, he began working in different private sectors. Later on, he jumped into the tourism sector. He is now working in Contic as an Assistant General Manager.

The Journey To His First Shot:

The photographer in Arif was born in 2014, when his sister-in-law gifted him a camera.

He gradually became more driven towards photography. Ultimately, he decided to dive right into it.

Arif has pursued a few courses on photography in the first light. Those courses were from GMB Akash. Gmb Akash is a famous photographer in Bangladesh. He is a highly recognized photographer across the world.

Being in the world of photography, Arif started developing interests. He possesses much interest in the festival, street photography, lifestyle, traveling, and architecture.

What is Photography to Arif?

Photography has helped him learn meaningful lessons. Arif has learned to feel even the slightest happiness. He has started absorbing the beauty of nature within himself.

Whenever Arif captures, he seeks to capture the moment and feels entirely consumed by the experience. Shooting is his stress-buster.

Recognition:

Arif has been fortunate to have his work published on many media channels. His works are published in national and international magazines, Bihanga, Bangladesh Brand Forum, Bronge Award From Bangladesh Photographic Society-BPS, Bangladesh Tourism, Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year, National Geography, Amnesty International, Agora, Viewbug, International Global shelter projects, featured his photo series on 121clicks.com and Russian Journal Edge of Humanity and different international platforms.
