We have a friendly competition here at Storyteller to see who can get the most photos with animals while out in the field. Kevin and Eli may have a little bit of an unfair advantage on their shoots with Dr. Ren Bleem, an animal chiropractor... but Chris made sure he found a four-legged friend during his time with Goodhue Soil & Water Conservation District up in Minnesota!

This is where professional Conservators, Bonnie Parr, Ginny Lee (and team) use a variety of techniques to repair books, documents, and manuscripts that make up the historical collection at the library.

Thursday at Storyteller: Eli and Kevin spent the morning with Jim Fulgenzi and team at RE/MAX Professionals Springfield in their beautiful new co-working space. Payton and Chris tested the slide in the lobby of the new building for Springfield Clinic Pediatrics. It works! (Yes, we did do some work as well.) We've decided every doctor's office, for children or adults, should have a slide in the building. Let's make it happen! 🛝🩺🥳

Kevin and Payton had a wonderful afternoon yesterday shooting with the heart of our world-class Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum – the Volunteers. Museum volunteers serve visitors seven days a week, 362 days a year, and travel from all over the midwest! Thank you to Summer Griffith and Jeremy Carrell for a great collaboration!

Glut1 Deficiency is a rare genetic condition first defined by Darryl De Vivo, MD, Pediatric Neurologist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In those suffering with the disease, glucose isn't transported properly across the blood brain barrier and into the brain, preventing it from growing, developing, and functioning the way it should leading to severe developmental challenges.
A research symposium and reception was held on Thursday, September 21st in honor of Dr. Darryl De Vivo, now Professor Emeritus at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. It was a wonderful opportunity for the many physicians, scientists, and family members touched by Dr. De Vivo and his work over the years to be able to come together to share research updates and pay tribute to him and his many years of service to the field of pediatric neurology and beyond.
It was also the debut of our tribute film, produced in partnership with the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation, in honor of Dr. De Vivo’s retirement, capturing his role in the story of Glut1 Deficiency. We are excited to share it with you and are extremely grateful for the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation, Dr. De Vivo, and all he means to the Glut1 community.

This Veteran's Day, we remember small business owner, American hero, international legend, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and Route 66 Hall of Famer, Bill Shea. Josh had the honor of interviewing him and producing this story for ABC's "Illinois Central" in 2012. It would turn out to be the last media interview Bill gave. He died in December of 2013. Shea's Route 66 Gas Station Museum was sold and auctioned in 2015. Before he died, the story was nominated for a 2013 mid-America Emmy Award, which was shared with he and his family. Happy belated birthday President Lincoln! We couldn’t let Abe’s birthday go by without a mention, especially given the upcoming release of History Reborn, a short form documentary commissioned by @thriveinspi detailing the 1966 dismantling and preservation of, what is now called, the Old State Capitol. It was here Lincoln gave his famous House Divided Speech in 1858. The building had been altered drastically since that day and it was decided to take it apart stone by stone, store the materials, and rebuild it from the ground up. This is an incredible tale of ingenuity and perseverance that was entirely spearheaded by local minds. Today marks 15 years since Barack Obama's 2007 announcement at the Old State Capitol, Springfield, IL in front of 17,000 people that he would seek the presidency. A new historical marker will be placed this year at the Old State Capitol to honor his presidential campaign announcements from the historic building's lawn in 2007 and 2008.
