The 80/20 Content Marketing Rule says you should spend 20% of your time making new content and 80% on promoting it. This means that you don’t need to spend time making new original content on a weekly basis. Instead, take your existing content and repurpose it in as many different ways as you can. Not only will this save you time, but you’ll also be growing your social media with consistent, high-value posts.

Humans absorb information in many different ways. If you take this into consideration when building a content repurposing strategy, you will reap the benefits down the road. For example, assume that Customer A and B are demographically identical. Customer A connected with a short bullet-point list taken from your blog post, but Customer B didn’t connect with that content until she saw the same information presented in a visual form (i.e. an infographic). By strategically redistributing your content in as many different ways as possible, you’ll find it easy and effective to create engaging content.

✍️ Sharper Strategy Tip # 139: Dont forget to promote online reviews.

Online reviews can significantly impact your sales. This is because in the buyer’s journey, consumers look for feedback before making a purchase decision. Research shows that people spend up to 49% more money at businesses that take the time to reply to reviews. While many business owners balk at taking the time to reply to reviews, this is only good news for you. If you do take the time to reply, you’ll easily stand out from the competition.

✍️ Sharper Strategy Tip # 138: Social media may not seem very important when you first start your business, but Facebook and Instagram (organic platforms) are places where you can begin to build goodwill within your community, improve your search ranking, and generate more traffic to your website. By posting relevant content that your audience can relate to and solves problems for them, and post it on a regular schedule. This helps you build trust and stay at the top of their mind so that when they need a solution to their problem – it’s you they’ll turn to.

When it comes to branding, consistency is key. Every time we start with a new client, we establish a color palette for them that they can use in all of their branding today, tomorrow and forever. Why? If you're constantly using random colors in your branding, it'll confuse your customer and you'll never actually build a brand or a following.

Not sure where to start? Try a tool like color.adobe.com to pick the perfect color palette for your brand. If colors aren't your strong suit, and you're not sure which ones should dominate, how many you should have, which colors should be used for your type of business, or how you should apply them, that's ok–we gotcha! We ❤️ all things branding, and we're more than happy to guide you in the right direction for your business and your intended audience.

People don’t buy what you do, they buy the problem you solve. Make sure you talk about your customer’s problem–and how you solve it–in your marketing messaging. Most businesses make the mistake of talking about themselves instead of their customer’s problems.

We think a vintage approach to business is the most futuristic marketing plan. What do we mean by that?

There was a time, not too many decades ago, that the default customer/business relationship was very different. There was a basic level of mutual respect and trust each afforded the other. A lot of that has been lost – on both sides – for so many reasons. Trust, respect, and loyalty are harder to come by these days, and much harder to keep.

By combining the ethics, integrity, and trust of days gone by with the transparency of today, we create a Sharp Strategy to grow your business. By helping good people grow ethical businesses, whole communities are seeing positive growth and change. We aim to continue the trend.
