Behind the Lens

I began photography when I was 10 years old on a road trip from St. Louis to North Carolina with my father and Grandparents. He handed me an Olympus OM-10 and let me cycle through the film. From the St. Louis arch to the Smoky Mountains I documented that trip with nothing but curiosity and excitement behind the lens.

I found photography and held onto it. I not only studied it through high school; upon graduation I joined the military as a "Combat Documentation and Production Specialist." (Combat Camera) I had the privilege to travel the world, experience and document life. After over 20 years of documentation I continue to learn more about photography every day.

Since I started photography I have experienced many different types. However, my passion is documenting the parts of life that are walked by every day and are not seen. The world shows us design and art continuously. It is up to us to slow down and take a look.
