Mountain Bike Action is a monthly magazine about mountain biking that includes in-depth tests of mountain bikes (over 50 bikes a year), components and riding gear. We pass along years of hard-learned riding tips, suspension set-up tips and mechanical how-to's. Our "Garage Files" takes you through a step-by-step bike service each month. "Trail Mix" is a collection of top photos submitted by riders

who depend on Mountain Bike Action for their connection to all things mountain biking. "Ask Mountain Bike Action" is a Q&A with the Mountain Bike Action wrecking crew where we will answer your tough questions. Finally, expect to find information on the best riding destinations because that is what it is all about; riding our mountain bikes in beautiful places.

Tinker Juarez is racing this weekend and he shared this photo of himself on Facebook. It's a pretty amazing photo for a guy who's a cross-country racer and 63 years old now. (Whoops! Vic Armijo told us in the comments section below that Tinker is now 64. We just looked up Tinker's biography on Wikepedia, and it looks like Vic is right. We saw a post from earlier this year that said that Tinker was 63, but that was before his birthday. Tinker turned 64 a couple of months ago—he was born on March 4th, 1961.)

Pivot’s all-new Shuttle SL/AM is here, and it’s impressive.
With 150mm of dw-link travel, Fox 36 up front, and up to 600W peak power + 55Nm torque from the Bosch Performance Line SX motor, this thing rips.
It pairs a 400Wh battery with an optional 250Wh range extender, runs 29” or 27.5” rear wheels, and hits the trail with a noticeably more nimble and playful feel than the full-powered AM.
Our test build weighed 43.2 lbs (size L), and we felt that weight savings immediately. It has a bit more aggressive trail capability than the Shuttle SL and a more nimble, lively feel than the AM.
Stay tuned for a long-term review.

"Even though the Shuttle AM carries its weight quite well for a full-powered eMTB, the SL/AM takes it to a new level with a far more nimble and lively feel that’s easier to throw around in the air and on the ground. And this isn’t even the lightest build – the higher-end, lighter spec models should feel even better."

Get the first ride impressions of Pivot’s all-new Shuttle SL/AM, a lightweight eMTB powered by Bosch’s Performance Line SX motor and weighing under 40 pounds. Full geometry, specs, and pricing inside.
