A group of researchers at Makerere University in Uganda have developed an app that uses photos of blood samples to diagnose malaria quickly. This technology is a huge step towards helping patients in shorter spaces of time. Igho Charles Sanomi was born in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria, the fifth child and first son of a Catholic family. His father, Dickens Ogheneruemu Patrick Sanomi, is a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in the Nigeria Police Force, while his mother, Mabel Iyabo Sanomi, is a retired nurse. Igho Sanomi's Educational Background Sanomi received a bachelor's degree in geology and mining from the University of Jos, Plateau State, in Nigeria's Middle Belt and became an executive director at Cosmos Oil (an international oil-trading company with its core business activity in Nigeria) during the late 1990s negotiating fuel-oil exports from the Port Harcourt refinery.
