Our Story
Bhashanagar is a bilingual magazine edited by Subodh Sarkar, a noted Bengali poet of the late 70s and published thrice an year for more than two decades. Now it is being brought out twice an year. Mallika Sengupta, (1961-2011) a towering figure among Postcolonial Bengali Women poets was deeply associated with it. Bhashanagar encourages new talent and offers writers of this generation a platform to unleash themselves along with publishing authors of repute. It also organizes workshops and poetry reading sessions in a regular basis. Bhashanagar is open to all genres and everyone, who dares to dream, are welcome. Editor Subodh Sarkar Editorial Support Arunava Raha Roy Bhashanagar expects all sorts of submissions from young writers. However, there are a few guidelines 1) Write-ups, if in Bengali, should be sent as either Avra files. 2) English writings should be mailed as word documents 3) The author's name and contact details should be clearly mentioned in the file. Anonymous contributions will not be entertained.
