Today is my second day on the job and I am so grateful for this opportunity. I could not be doing this without the strong support of who not only tells me to “suck it up buttercup” a lot and to get the job done, but also for being an incredible caregiver to our son when I am not able to. Dads don’t always get acknowledged when they are good dads so I want to take this opportunity to not only post my headshot that he took, but also to thank him for all that he does and wish him a happy .

Exactly a year ago this was me—absolutely petrified about what was about to happen. I wasn’t exactly sure how a baby was going to come out of me. For some reason I hadn’t thought about that until a couple weeks before my due date. Little did I know that the most difficult part would be after giving birth and having to take care of a little tyrant while also trying to manage all the thoughts and emotions that come with parenthood. What a year it has been!

Kai has now been outside my belly for longer than he was in there. These past nine months have been some of the hardest yet beautiful moments of my life. I have travelled to the darkest corners of my mind and also the best parts. These moments have flown by and yet seem to have dragged on at times. It’s been an incredible learning process in finding my strength and patience. We love you baby Kai.
