– It’s that time of year when residents can gather in celebration of Pines Day – the City of Pembroke Pines 64th Birthday – on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm. This year’s theme, “Largest Outdoor Arcade,” transforms the Plaza at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way, into the “Ultimate Gamer’s Birthday Bash, Level 64.”

All ages can enjoy free access to an open-air roller rink and oversized arcade games like Skee-Ball, Air Hockey, and Claw Machines. There will also be bounce houses, slides, and the chance to compete in the Royal Court Pageant for Pembroke Pines residents ages 3-16. All participants must be Pembroke Pines residents, and all participants will compete for the Queen and Princess title in their age group.
The fun day also includes the Kids Konnection, a “Kid’s Friendly Business Expo,” which offers an opportunity to connect families with businesses in the South Florida area. Delicious treats from Food Truck row and performances by local chorus and dance teams will be on the Birthday Stage.
During the celebration 1,000 decorated cupcakes will be unveiled at 6 pm. In addition, free popcorn, cotton candy, and face painting will be available all day. Visitors can meet the “Mushroom Kingdom Friends” for Photo Opportunities -- the Two Famous Plumbers, the Dragon King and Mushroom Princess will host a Meet and Greet from 4:30 - 6:30 pm on the Plaza. There will also be surprise birthday give-a-ways at 4:15 pm, 5:15 pm, and 6:15 pm.
