Today marks a double milestone! 🎉🚀

This morning I conducted my first live, in-person AI literacy workshop, and it happened to fall on the 1-year anniversary of Social Work Expat's business filing. What a journey it's been!

I cannot express enough how much I love what I do! Getting to experience the excitement and curiosity of the entrepreneurship camp students as they explored AI image tools was truly inspiring. It reaffirms why I started this journey - to empower overlooked communities with the knowledge and skills to thrive in our AI-driven world.

Here's to MANY more workshops, many more breakthroughs, and many more YEARS of bridging the digital divide. Thank you to everyone who's been part of this incredible first year. The best is yet to come! 💻🤖🌟

I had such a great time taking my physical book and AI literacy OUTSIDE! I was (and am) so excited to showcase the real world applications of generative AI tools - including the pendant necklaces and earrings, the illustrations for my books & posts, AND the background music on my posts.
Thank you to Brookland Baptist for having me and all the other wonderful local authors and vendors at yesterday's Juneteenth celebration.

I like making things, I've been sewing for *cough* 35 years. I sew all the pencil skirts I wear. And I designed my first t-shirt (and sweatshirt) using AI to wear to my first AI speaking engagement.

I like teaching people how to make things. Let's design a t-shirt together using AI tools. And if you want to start an online shop to sell your t-shirts...we are doing that too!

A few hours before my yesterday's virtual brunch, I used my ChatGPT Plus account to generate the YouTube video thumbnail image. When I went to upload the generated image to Canva, I couldn't find it in my files list.

So I went to see if the image was in my download files. Yep, there it was in my files. Why wasn't it showing up to upload to Canva??

I found the problem after a couple of panicky, late-night minutes. There, in the file details, was the problem. My generated image output was ".webp" instead of ".png."

What the heck am I supposed to do with a .webp image? If it weren't for all the fairytale time (childhood) computer programming play my dad had us kids engage in, I would have been stuck. Thankfully, I knew to change the file format in GIMP. Thanks Dad!

Does anybody know why OpenAI changed the image output format? Does it have anything to do with the White House's edict to "cryptographically verify" AI generated images?
