Changes proposed to the former Regal Cinemas site retain plans for adaptive resuse of the former theater building as a self-storage facility (seen at back in this rendering). The new plan replaces a proposed single large-scale commercial/residential building to instead include one mixed-used building fronting 329 East Main Street/Route 1 (as seen partially at front in this rendering) together with three multi-family residential buildings with a more communal feel. A previously proposed drive-thru coffee shop in the building fronting Route 1 has also been eliminated from the new plan that’s under review by Branford’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
