The former El Paso is now the NEW El Charro de Mex-Villa. New Signage will arrive soon.

Most importantly for many is that they are now serving alcohol so you can enjoy one of many flavored Margaritas or your favorite cerveza.

Also, when the calendar came out many people did not know where this restaurant was (West of the tracks on Grand Ave in Lake Villa) because of the old El Paso signage and when they did try it they found it did not serve alcohol. Again they now do offer it!

3:00PM Update:
We're still pushing through! Up next is our afternoon shift to help tackle this storm!
We've received some parking complaints and want to remind our community that there is no parking on McHenry streets when there is more than 2" of snow. We want to ensure our plows can get through!
**Flood Brothers' Refuse & Recycling Service has suspended services and will resume on Monday 1/15/24. **

12:00PM Update:
Our officers and plows continue to conquer the snowy day! Due to the inclement weather, City Hall will be closed for the remainder of the day.
Our officers are on a snow plan, thus all emergent calls will continue to take priority over non-emergent calls. It is requested that drivers involved in traffic crashes in which there are no injuries and/or tow is not required, exchange information and file the police report at a later date/time. DO NOT HESTITATE to call 9-1-1 or our non-emergent phone number for emergencies and matters in which police/fire should not notified now.

0730AM Update:
*WINTER WEATHER STORM IS IN EFFECTING UNTIL NOON ON 1/13/2024. *
The midnight shift has been busy, especially since approximately 0400AM, when the snow started! Even though snow plows have been out and working to try and keep up with our streets, as much as possible, the roads are still treacherous. is working on the state routes (IL Route 31 & IL Route 120 for McHenry).
We want to warn our community to avoid travel unless necessary. If you must drive, take it slow and increase your distance between cars.
Our officers will keep up with the call volume as much as possible, but please know that emergency calls will take priority.
- If you are involved in a minor traffic crash, where cars are able to be driven, please exchange information amongst yourselves and file the police report at a later time.

While our dispatchers enjoy hearing your voices, please be know that they are inundated with calls currently and are monitoring the roads via our officers. PLEASE do not hesitate to contact 9-1-1 or our non-emergency number when assistance is needed!

Waste Management has made the decision to pull all residential trucks off the streets for the day. Unfortunately, their trucks are sliding all over the roads and creating a very dangerous situation for the residents as well as their drivers. Waste Management is currently in the process of formulating a recovery plan which will be shared publicly. Please stay tuned for more updates.
