The wedding industry lost a tremendously talented baker this week. A couple of years ago, I had a spectacular shoot planned for Ohio Weddings Magazine, and the only thing that I was missing was the cake. I just couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. I found out that someone right in my town, Deneen Dellarco, made cakes, and she told me of a fabulous chandelier cake that she had won awards for, and I simply had to see it. When she brought the cake, I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was, and she was so kind and so much fun that she and I just ended up hanging out and laughing the whole shoot. The picture won an award and I went to bring her the magazine with her cake in it. She was so happy that it featured her cake. We didn’t see a lot of each other after that, but when we did, I always left with such a happy impression of how great she was and always thought how much I would love to be closer to her beautiful, positive light.

I learned today that she has unexpectedly passed, and I am devastated. There is so much more that I would like to say, but it’s her story, not mine. Godspeed, my talented friend.

Todays What Made the Moment Magical comes from the fabulous who says, “Ryleigh and Logan’s wedding day came with only a 15% chance of rain, but it was inevitable, and I really wanted this boat shot ( which was slated for golden hour after the ceremony) -so as I did their first look- their bridal party decorated and filled the boat with a moments notice and we got them in and pushed them out and right as we were done, the sprinkles came, but they were troopers and we finished up and the day continued on perfectly!”

It can be hard to eat at the head table if the decor takes over the space, but today's inspiration offers a simple solution! Simply placing the grandest part of the display at the base of the table frees up space while still offering visual flare.

I wanted them to be able to look back and truly feel authentic in their wedding pictures. Thats exactly what we got. True to life authentic moments. I felt so privileged to show them what their bond looked like from an outside perspective. From (my) perspective. Their connection was electrifying, yet soft.
