Count the cost: God tells us in Luke 14:28-32 to count the cost, to estimate what it’s going to require to begin that business and what you’re going to need to sacrifice to scale to your next level. It’s easy to begin anything, but hard to finish when you don’t count the cost. God doesn’t desire for us to abandon the mission midway. He calls us to finish the good work He began in us. Ask yourself how much energy, time, finances, and sacrifice from hobbies it is going to take to complete the mission.
2. Be reliable: How many of us as Christian entrepreneurs have told someone we’ll do or send something by a specific date? How many of us have made it a habit of not doing what we’ve said in the timeframe that we promised?
Though we’re certainly not perfect, being inconsistent with what we say leaves a bad taste in our clients mouths.
God says to let your communication be a yes or a no. When we’re not sure if we can pull through on the day they need it, say no. It’s better to be accurate and trustworthy. A huge part of scaling is building a community-one that can rely on you.
3. Proverbs 18:9 says, “He who is lazy in his work is a brother to him who destroys.” Basically, get to work, ya’ll! You want to grow, scale, and make an impact for His glory? It’s gonna require some good ol’ fashion work.
