Climate Cup 2024 Trophy Unveiling Ceremony

Leh, Sept 1, 2024 :The Climate Cup 2024 Trophy Unveiling Ceremony was held on August 31, 2024 which set the stage for this year’s much anticipated football tournament. Organized by the LAHDC Leh in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports and the Ladakh Football Association, the event celebrated not only sportsmanship but also Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh Adv. Tashi Gyalson, who served as the chief guest along with Executive Councillor for Culture Stanzin Chospel, Secretary of Youth Services and Sports, Vikram Singh Malik and Shri Ayush IFS, representing the Indian Embassy in Dubai. The event was further distinguished by the presence of Assistant Director of Tourism, Fesal Iqbal Tantray ;Chairman of the Ladakh Football Association; officials from the All India Football Federation (AIFF); Presidents of ALTOA, ALGHA, and the Biker Association.

The tournament will commence on September 1, 2024, with the semi-finals on August 5, 2024, and the finals on August 7, 2024. This year’s Climate Cup will showcase six exceptional teams: Skalzangling FC, 1 Ladakh FC, NorthEast United FC, the Tibet National Team, Gokulam Kerala FC, and JK Bank FC.

The evening's highlight was the unveiling of the Climate Cup 2024 trophy, a splendid creation reflecting Ladakh’s artistic excellence. Crafted by renowned Ladakhi artists Shri Tsering Namgyal, a master wood carver from Wanla Hinju, and Shri Sonam Tsewang, an esteemed sculptor and painter from Tar village, the trophy embodies the region’s deep-rooted cultural traditions.

The Climate Cup 2024 is not only a football tournament but also a significant initiative aimed at raising awareness about climate change and promoting environmental sustainability. By bringing together teams from diverse regions, the event seeks to inspire collective action to preserve our planet for future generations.

JTN Hails Creation of Five New Districts in Ladakh as Historic Milestone for Improved Governance

Leh, 31st August 2024 – Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, former Member of Parliament for Ladakh, former BJP State President, and former Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Leh, today met with Brig. (Retd.) Dr. B.D. Mishra, the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, to extend his deep gratitude to the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh. This meeting was held in recognition of the Ministry of Home Affairs' recent announcement to establish five new districts in Union Territory of Ladakh.

Jamyang Tsering Namgyal applauded the Hon'ble Lt. Governor Brig Dr. BD Mishra for his steadfast support of the demands he raised inside and outside Parliament during his tenure in the 17th Lok Sabha. JTN particularly praised the Lt. Governor's efforts to fulfill the long-standing need for district status for Zanskar, Nubra, Changthang, Sham, and Drass. Jamyang Tsering Namgyal lauded the Modi Government’s decision as a landmark achievement that aligns with the aspirations of the people from these regions. He emphasized that this initiative will bring administrative services closer to the residents, facilitating comprehensive development throughout the regions.

Jamyang Tsering Namgyal described this decision as a significant milestone, marking a historic shift towards improved governance in every nook and corner of Ladakh. He recognized the forward-thinking policies of the UT Ladakh Administration and the substantial progress made over the past five years in the newly established Union Territory under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Lt. Governor Brig. Dr. B.D. Mishra Ji as rightly guided by the most dynamic Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

In addition to expressing his gratitude, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal urged the Hon'ble Lt. Governor to expedite the boundary demarcation process, ensuring it takes into account the views and concerns of all community stakeholders. He also requested the creation of essential posts to ensure the effective delivery of services in these newly established districts, in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision.

During the meeting, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal also addressed ongoing demands from the people of Suru-Sankoo and Shakar-Chiktan, emphasizing the need for prompt resolution of these issues.

The Hon'ble Lt. Governor congratulated Jamyang Tsering Namgyal on the creation of the five new districts, acknowledging this development as a crucial step forward for improving governance and accessibility in Ladakh. The Lt. Governor reaffirmed the commitment to enhancing administrative efficiency and serving the local population more effectively.

Leh March 9: General Secretary BJYM Ladakh Mohd Hussain along with MMA Champion Mehdi Nasri and Sayed Ruhuallaha called upon Members of Parliament Shri. Jamyang Tsering Namgayal at Leh and raised various issues of Kargil in General and Drass in particular.

On the occasion MP Ladakh fecilated MMA Champion Mehdi Nasri for outstanding performance in Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt and wish best for future games and assured him for every possible assistance in future.He also assured that all possible help to the MMA Association Ladakh to promote the game.

While thanking on the behalf of people of Kargil for the smooth functioning of Jal Jeevan Mission works to provide all weather tap connection to every household in Kargil District. He also request for Release of Pending Funds and required additional funds to complete the Jal Jeevan Mission project in this working season.

Mohd Hussain also take up tourism Promotion Initiative needed to be taken to promote Tourism at Drass during the summer to tackle the raising unemploymen issues such as to explore the Mushkoo Valley famously known as wild tulip, Opening of Gurez to Drass road for tourism, and Gandola project to be stated at Drass.
