Have you seen the band Kitty Rodeo yet? My 1st time was this past weekend at Helderberg Mountain Brewing Company (beautiful setting in the country) and the band was fun and super nice too. Here's two videos of the Kitty Rodeo.
How’s the weather for you?
I did the morning show for Dave Michaels today and then was excited to take the afternoon off. Yeah, I managed to get totally drenched not just once… but twice today. Totally a ME thing. Mother Nature if it gets sunny I will NOT be tempted. Plus, all my sneakers are soaked.
I’m having so much fun playing you tunes especially today as we celebrate the year 1969 with sets from that iconic year. I wasn’t old enough to go to Woodstock but my aunt Debbie attended. She left work and headed to Woodstock wearing a skirt! Without cell phones back then she only met up with a few of her friends but she says it was one heck of a good time! Tunes from ‘69 plus new music from Lake Street Dive, Yarn and some surprises too.

How’s your morning? I awoke to a broken hot water pipe spewing water absolutely everywhere in the bathroom.
Thankfully TV Tim turned the water off in the house and is fixing it, but I can’t tell you how many times I INSTINCTIVELY TRIED TO TURN THE FAUCET ON. Not a drop to be had…it reminded me of things we come to expect and depend upon just like turning on WEXT for your favorite music mix. Today is the final day of our fundraising drive. You might have seen me at the WEXT Radio table or on stage introducing a band, but I bet you've never seen me inside of a cage at an animal shelter right? Now maybe you know I love animals but did you know that my husband "TV Tim" (he's a Producer/Editor at WMHT Public Media) have volunteered at Noah's Kingdom Humane Society for the past 18 years! It's a side of me I actually keep private. However, I want to use this platform to reach out about the importance of spaying and neutering your pets to prevent overpopulation and homeless/neglected pets. I'm proud of our community and together we can make it a bit kinder. Remember-Spay and Neuter-it's cuter and I'll catch you on WEXT radio this weekend! PS-the kitty is 1 year old Tallulah who needs a Forever Home.
I enjoy reading music related books (big surprise) and I’m currently reading this book which gives details behind the songs from ‘66 to ‘92. Today just happens to be Neils birthday too.

What are your thoughts on this "NEW" song by the Beatles? I'm pleased was done in a respectful manner with John & Georges families supporting the idea. It's such a beautiful song and emotional video. Technology gives us what could not be done otherwise.

Is there a band who has played the 518 area but you just never caught them? I finally saw The String Cheese Incident at SPAC during Outlaw Festival and I didn't know what to expect but they were incredible. Some ppl said they stole the show. They sure did put on a fun show start to finish!

Have you heard of an instrument called the kora? I'll admit to never knowing about it. It's a 21 string instrument from West Africa, that dates back to a 13th-century empire and for hundreds of years only men were taught how to play it. Watch groundbreaking performer Sona Jobarteh. She is the first woman to master the kora and she graced the stage this year at the Music Haven Concert Series. This was such a special show!
