Saturday morning yoga for this bachelorette group! The view at their Airbnb of the trees with the sun streaming through and the ocean beyond was perfect.

After class, the bride and her brother (the man of honor) said, “That was the best thing we’ve done all year.”

It was one woman’s first yoga class ever and she said, “You tricked into mindfulness! My mind was so settled by the end. I’m gonna look for a class when I get home.”

Another bridesmaid said, “I want to start every day like this.”

These are not uncommon things to hear after a class like this. It’s why we practice and it’s why I teach.

I’ve been taking a little break from teaching my group class on the deck on Wednesdays at 5pm over the winter, but I’m looking forward to starting it up again in mid-April.

Cause there’s nothing better ✨🙏🏽🍃

I recently changed my Instagram handle from robinpenneyyoga to robinpenneymovement. I added “movement” to a lot of my branding a few years ago because I realized that I really don’t identify as just a yoga teacher anymore.

Don’t get me wrong...I LOVE yoga. Yoga has brought so much into my life for the last 20 years or so that I’ve been a serious practitioner and then a teacher for the last 13 years. And I love the framework of a great yoga class: The intention setting, the breathwork, the flow, Savasana at the end, the awakening. And the amazing people that I’ve met through yoga have created an unbeatable community.

But the actual physical practice of yoga wasn’t working for me anymore. As a pretty mobile (perhaps hypermobile) person, I was experiencing a high level of pain and discomfort, especially in my hips and low back. Even though I could do a lot of crazy poses, I was feeling pretty terrible in my day-to-day life.

Slowly, I started adding strength training back into what I was doing. I started this about 5 years ago, and now, I do mostly weight lifting and resistance training, along with a little bit of yoga a couple of times a week.

For the past few months, I’ve gone all in on this and have returned to the BODi workout platform for my own workouts. I used several of their programs for years (I loved 80 Day Obsession!!), and I came back for the structure, routine, and other programs like Barre and Pilates. I’m building more and more strength. I love that there are programs for every fitness level, from total beginners on up to pretty intense training for those athletes out there. I’m adding in more and more of the nutritional elements of the program to help support my 50+ body. It’s all great, and the more of it I do, the better my yoga practice feels.

Strength training has helped me fall back in love with my yoga practice. To enjoy all the elements of flow and stillness and presence.

If you find that you’re feeling weak and off, I encourage you to try something DIFFERENT than what you’ve been doing. I’m personally ready to find out just how good I can feel. How about you?

I am ready to tackle Week 2 with my TRANSFORM group! We are starting the week with a great Core practice. Then we will move on to upper body, a nervous system regulation practice, lower body, a core flow, and a restorative practice. Each of these practices are under 30 minutes each. We do six classes for the first three weeks of this 4-week program. Then we will have a rest and recovery week in the 4th week where we only do 2 practices.

It’s been amazing to be in the group of almost 30 women who are moving through these classes together. They are showing up, doing the work, giving themselves gold stars, providing support to each other, and resting so they can give it their ALL the next time they show up. This is what it’s all about.

I am in great company. Gratitude for this wonderful group of rockstar women!! ✨✨✨

Doors are open for my new 4-week program for strength and clarity, TRANSFORM.

This is all online. You must be willing to roll out your mat at home to practice and move.

It’s sneaky strength-based slow flow + mobility work, plus nervous system regulation practices and stretchy yummy restorative work.

All organized into a simple 4-week “block calendar.” Classes are all under 30 minutes each. The first 3 weeks, we have 6 classes per week. The last week is a rest and recovery week.

Lifetime membership pricing is in effect only until December 30th at midnight PST!

One of the best things you can do for a strong and clear body and mind, especially when you’re starting something new, is to have a calendar to follow.

When you know what you are going to do, and when you’re going to do it, you’re much more likely to show up and be consistent.

This calendar is called a block calendar. And it’s what I will be using in my online library in 2024. It’s gonna be great.

This was our regular spot for twice daily yoga classes in Santorini. What a view!! So grateful for our time together with students and friends, teaching alongside ❤️❤️❤️ It’s been quite a ride!! And even though it’s fabulous to roll out your mat on retreat, as powerful (or maybe even more powerful) is rolling out your mat for a regular practice in your daily life. So much gratitude for it all!
