Flights on Delhi-Shimla-Delhi route to operate 7 days a week, state govt to underwrite 50pc seats

The flight operations between Delhi- Shimla will resume seven days a week, stated RD Dhiman, Chief Secretary of the State and the State govt is planning to underwrite 50pc seats on 2 routes, out of the three.

Pertinent to mention that the flight route is bound to resume on September 6 and will start after a gap of two and a half years.

He said that in a presentation and meeting held with Vineet Sood, CEO of Alliance Air, the company which will run the air operations in the State, it had been agreed that the flights between Shimla-Kullu-Shimla will run four days a week and between Dharamshala- Shimla three days a week.

Adding, the State government spokesperson stated that the government would appropriately underwrite 50% of seats on Shimla- Dharamshala and Shimla Kullu routes. He said, in principle, approval was given, and detailed modalities for the same shall be worked out with the tourism department in consultation with the finance department. ” Finance department has agreed to examine possibilities of allowing Class-I, senior government officers to travel by Alliance air from Shimla to Dharamshala, Kullu and back for official visits, they stated.

Himachal Pradesh High Court has stayed the order of Special Judge (Forest) to lodge a Vigilance probe against Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Jagdish Sharma here. He is facing allegations of corruption and disportionate assets of his sources of income.

The vacation bench of Himachal Pradesh High Court comprising Justice Anoop Chitkara allowed to stay the order of Special Judge Forest court to lodge a vigilance probe against the IAS on the matter.

Special Judge Forest court had ordered the vigilance probe in the matter of Criminal Miscellaneous Application on Jan 20,, 2021 in Geeta Singh versus Additional Superintendent case in which Sharma who is currently serving as Pr. Secy to CM was alleged for charges of corruption and DA assets.

Spl court forest had issued notice to State Vegillance and Anti-corruption Bureau ordering the agency to comply with order fixing the matter till March 26, 2021 in the court.

In one page order High court said that the matter be fixed before appropriate bench on March 26, 2021.

Geeta Singh who was caught in bribe case, also accused Sharma for being indulged in corruption case and allegedly buying lands without the knowledge of government.

Former excise and taxation Officer went in the court seeking probe against the IAS officer. Vigilance had conducted the probe twice in the allegations but she was not satisfied with the investigation.

Spl judge in its order passed recently has also included the applicant in the case directing the SV&ACB to respond to it with in notice of two days and complete the probe till March 26, 2021.

Sharma moved in the high court seeking the protection from the spl court immpunged order on Tuesday.
