PUSHBACK AGAINST REPUBLICAN TAKEOVER OF MONROE CITY COUNCIL: The District 5 City Council race is attracting the attention of Republicans from all over the country, as far away as Oregon. They have targeted "Kema Dawson" as the black community's weak link and have poured thousands of dollars to get the third vote to advance a Trumpian agenda that ignores Monroe's black community. It involves millions of dollars that will not include black primary contractors, the Black Chamber of Commerce or any efforts to promote the Southside Dream.
The claims in this ad are backed up by official Campaign Finance Reports signed personally by Kema Dawson.

MASS SHOOTING ON GSU CAMPUS: A mass shooting occurred on the campus of Grambling State University early Sunday morning.
According to University spokesperson Tisha Arnold, Multiple shots were fired around 1:15 a.m. CDT, Sunday morning.“
One person was fatally wounded. Eight others were wounded.
At the time of the incident, a homecoming event was underway in McCall Dining Center,” Arnold told media.
“All persons present sheltered in place and were released once the all-clear was given by University Police.”
Arnold added that a suspect had not yet been identified, the news network reported.
GSU President Rick Gallot said, “Our campus community has worked tirelessly to keep our students and others safe for the homecoming activities. Yet, with all of our planning and coordination with our local, parish, regional, and state law enforcement partners, we still find ourselves grieving the loss of life and injuries just as too many communities in our country have experienced as well. Why would someone come to the campus of our Dear Ole Grambling and shoot innocent people?”
Students on social media reported hearing as many as 40 shots fired. Some victims were shot in the back, torso and stomach.
Emergency workers worked frantically to treat the wounded while students and guests watched the aftermath in shock.
State Police are investigating and all classes at GSU have been canceled for Monday, October 18th.
