“AlertMartin | This is the Martin County Sheriff's Office with an important public safety message for residents in the New Monrovia and Manatee Creek Communities.

Detectives are investigating a violent random attack and robbery of a resident leaving her home early this morning. It happened around 6AM near 47th Avenue and Field Street. The victim was getting into her car when a masked suspect ambushed and began to choke her.

The victim was able to fight the attacker off, but not before he grabbed her bag and ran east on Field Street. This was a violent random attack and we must work together to find the person responsible.

The victim described her assailant as a younger black male about 5'-7" tall with a slim build. He was wearing all black clothing and a mask. Detectives are seeking any exterior home video footage around that time in either community of any suspicious activity.
