Went to the library this morning because of the summer school lunches, they’re free for the little ones.
Sure they are mostly sugar and other scary things we really don’t want in their bodies, but it’s free right?
When we left the library we stopped by Panera Bread because we have 3 months free of the sip club, and I grabbed my wife an iced coffee.
We also had a coupon for $2 off a sandwich, so I got her a breakfast sandwich, which she was super excited for because not only was it food, but we saved money!
After that we took them to the splash pad at the local playground. Also free!
Starting to see the trend?
Keep reading I’ll explain more!
While the littles were playing, my mom called and said she picked up something too heavy and felt a pop and a sharp pain in her chest.
For any of y’all that remember last year, we lost my dad from an aortic dissection. He didn’t wake up after surgery.
This is the first thing that went to my mind and I’m sure my mom’s mind as well.
I ask her if I need to come get her and get her checked out, she said no and that she would let me know.
However on the way home she calls back crying and says she wants me to take her to get checked out.
“I’m almost there,” I tell her. “See you in a minute.”
I get her in the truck and my wife takes the little ones.
Then she tells me she doesn’t want to go to the ER.
She wants to go to a doctors office because it’s more affordable… see! I told you I’d get back to the point of this story!
It’s not over yet, keep reading!
We get to the office and they’re on lunch break, won’t be back for an hour.
She still doesn’t want to go to the ER so she explained how she hasn’t had anything to eat today and would like to grab some food.
She asks me to take her to Panera Bread, because she has the sip club also! 3 months free!!
We get her food and drink and are about to go to the ER, but she’d rather check the doctor’s office again.
By this time she has expressed several times her concern with the cost of the ER.
We get back to the doctor’s office and I watch her sit in pain as we wait a few minutes till they return from lunch.
Once back she explains the story a few times and we finally talk to a lady that explains her benefits and how she will have to pay a bunch at the ER.
This gets her more stressed, but at this point she doesn’t know what else to do, so before the doctor could see her she asked me to take her to the ER.
Finally we get to the ER and they get her back almost immediately, because chest pain and difficulty breathing are serious emergencies!!
They do the EKG and blood work and the. We sit in the waiting room, they come do an X-ray later and we wait some more.
Now we’re finally in the room, she pulled something 7 hours ago.
Registration just came in and discussed the prices with mom. More than she planned to spend on herself this whole year.
I hate that things are this way, more focused on finances than what is important.
I’ve been working to get out of it and plan to be out soon! Hopefully before I loose my mom!
If you’re interested in getting out financial struggles, comment “EMERGENCY” and I’ll send you a 100% FREE course to show you how myself and thousands of others are doing it!
