The individuals below will pay tribute to Emanuel Brisker Jr. (EJ) one of the BSU leaders who passed away last month.

*Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D) CA-43, ranking member House of Representatives, Financial Services Committee comments on her legislative priorities for the session that will begin in less than two weeks.

*Attorney Jesse Wineberry, a former Washington State Representative and Founder, Washington Equity Now Alliance (WENA) an organization that meets virtually every Saturday morning at 7:00 am (PDT). He has been an outspoken advocate for equal economic participation and representation for African Americans and people of color for decades.

*James Posey, President, Portland Oregon Branch, NAACP comments on the organization's Area Conference Alaska, Oregon, and Washington State Conference Annual Convention with the theme of Legacy:Reclaiming Our History, Building Our future. The event will be held in Seattle on September 9.

*Paul Mitchell continues to volunteer for the Relatives Of Old Timers (ROOTS) gathering that will be held at Jimi Hendrix Park at 2300 South Massachusetts Street on Sunday, September 3 10:00 am-6:00 pm (PDT).

*Maisha Barnett's family members first arrived in Washington State in 1883, she has been a long time organizer with the ROOTS Committee. She will share some history of her family lineage and comment on the Sunday, September 3 event at Jimi Hendrix Park.

*Tana Yasu, organizer of the Youth/ Young Adult Saturday program of "Dream Unfinished:Continuation not Commemoration" at the Northwest African American Museum (NAAM) 10:00 am-5:00 pm. She will be joined by youth leader/speaker Lincoln Wilmore and Chardonnay Beaver the keynote speaker for the event. The Simply Soulful Brunch will be served at 10:15 am.

*Stan Shikuma, President, Japanese Americans Citizens League (JACL) the oldest Asian American Civil Rights and Human Rights organization in the country. JACL was in Selma, Alabama with African Americans in 1965 and in 2015 for the 50th Anniversary.

*Dr. James Carter, Director, Seattle Breakfast Group Project Mister Program, he comments on the historical significance of "Dream Unfinished:Continuation not Commemoration" and what role his organization will play in the 60th Anniversary observance this weekend.

*Dr. Traci Harrell has played a significant role in interviewing individuals who were around during the August 28, 1963 March on Washington DC. She has scheduled interviews for Friday, August 25 10:00 am-5:00 pm at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Baptist Church in Renton.

*Clyde Merriwether and Roger Evans of the Seattle Griot Project are videoing and conducting interviews to chronicle the Seattle King County events that will be held to observe the 60th Anniversary of the August 28, 1963 March on Washington DC.
