"Continuing to foster the flame of traditional house & garage, Hot Dime Recordings delivers on their promise of another vocal package, this time from Urbanite, and experienced newcomer, Melia Scaletty. The technical single, "Somewhere In The Rhythm," explores the influences of jazz, & R&B, and in direct reference to it's 90's-00's heritage, arrives with a vocal driven ballad original mix, plus a pair of alternative mixes; an up tempo, faux-instrumental from Urbanite, plus a monster dub from S.R., another new addition to the artist roster, and one of the East Coast's finest UK Garage specialist. Perhaps hinting at a new format, the release also includes another pair of DJ-Producer friendly pieces, a DJ tool that consists of the vocal + a hushed layer of hi hats, designed for mixing over different tracks, plus a bare acapella of the vocal, in all of it's intimate glory, for sampling, or further modification."

Leading up to tomorrow's festivities, we take a quick look back to Echelon's Scott Tonic Mix, of our first digital release, "In My Eyes," by RoseBud and Urbanite.
A few fun facts: While this release features a primarily American crew, a remix from Echelon, who you may know better as Scott Diaz, was brought on to maintain a strong connection with the UKG focused element of the label. It was also our first single, first in-house remix package, and went on to be included in Juno Download's UK Garage Best of 2020, an achievement we never even dreamed possible.

Originally released in 2017, and unavailable since 2019 (sold out), the EP has now been remastered, by the man himself, for dancefloor use, and streaming purposes.
The title track, "Intergalactic Werk," a sort of cross between lofi, deep tech, and jackin house, starts the story off on a raw note, with highly swung drums, powerful claps, a "fonky" bassline, and intuitively evolves into a futuristic journey, albeit with a grainy, crisp, texture, a characteristic present throughout the entire EP. The second track, "Deeper Instincts," shifts things back down to the more classic flavor, with traditional deep house chords, a bouncing analog bassline, and your trademark emotive breakdown, a treat for the old school heads. Track 3, "Osho's Flower," a nod to the spiritual, returns things to the more modern tip, as a deep tech - break, centered around a sensual female vocal, dub techno style chords, and an aggressive square bassline, which brings us to the closing track, "We Meet Again." Straight ahead, the EP's most energetic piece, clearly intended for peak hour club use, the addictive, sparkling, drums, are perfectly supported by a pulsing low end that alternates between sub bass, and percussion, with vocal samples from another mysterious voice, to add some cerebral rhythm to the mix.
You could call it an EP, or a sonic tale through time, and space, perhaps one that continues still...
