Lord have mercy
Lord, have mercy on this poor soul that doesn’t deserve what You have given
To walk this earth oh wretched soul, how can You be so kind
So weak are we at times willing to put up the white flag
Is it beyond me? It cannot be; You said it Yourself: only what we can take (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Yet it seems so heavy but nothing like Your load. Could You take this, too (Matthew 11:28)
Against principalities of darkness quite prominent these days
On full attack, what’s the point of falling so much
But to be more understanding that others fall often as well
Oh, how frustrating it is, yet God doesn’t tire to forgive
We can call on Papa, run to Him, head held down; how sorry are we
Sometimes, we don’t have words, just tears as we feel defeated
Oh, how we care not to let You down, yet emotions sabotage
Take away what is not of You, dearest Christ I fervently pray
Or let me not enjoy this blessing called life to live another day
Another cross, the hardest ones are the ones we cause
Humbling it is, but please, Papa, don’t let go; hold us tight
You are the lasting strength when we’ve lost our fight
Lord have mercy, for no matter how hard we try, we still fail
But Your love never does; it just keeps on winning
Surrendered all to You, What will it take to stop sinning?
My love, my sweetness, and my all, if it’s for our good, let it be
Never forget what sacrifice You made so ultimately, we turn free
God, thank You for Your graciousness, always at His will
In for saving souls, the sick and lost so that we know You are God and be still (Psalm 46:10)
Much love and God bless,
