KRCL's Women Who Rock Shining a light on women musicians and femme voices across musical genres Mon-Fri at noon on KRCL.

Women Who Rock is heard at noon during the Midday Show with Eugenie Monday thru Friday on 90.9fm KRCL. Produced by KRCL Midday Host, Eugenie, Women Who Rock amplifies women's voices in music and celebrates the creative work of women in the music industry. The feature started in 2013 and has grown to include special events like International Women's Day on KRCL - a full day of women's voices on air

, a rally at the Utah State Capitol with the band Lucius, and Women Who Rock Trivia Night, hosted by Eugenie. Previous artists featured include: Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Liz Phair, Neko Case, Joan Jett, Dinah Washington, Dolly Parton, Dusty Springfeild, Bjork, The Go-Gos, Rosanne Cash, Luscious Jackson, Tina Turner to name a few. February is Black History Month and all month long for Women Who Rock on KRCL 90.9FM we're featuring rock pioneers, MCs, soul queens, divas and more in celebration of the strong Black women who inspire us. Today at Noon we kick things off with the Godmother of Rock and Roll, the Original Soul Sister, the Gospel Queen who gave Little Richard his first gig outside the church, who influenced Elvis, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis, the originator of rock and roll guitar - Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Today at noon on KRCL 90.9FM we feature the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin and the best selling album of her 50+ career Amazing Grace. In 1972 Franklin, at the top of her mainstream success, went back to church and recored a live album with the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, with Reverend James Cleveland and the Southern California Community Choir. The two nights were captured on film by Sidney Pollack and only recently released in 2018. Tonight at 8pm catch this masterpiece outdoors on the big screen with Utah Film Center Black Bold & Brilliant SLC at Liberty Park.

It's been 26 years since Sarah McLachlan started Lilith Fair in response to industry executives and concert promotors declaration that having more than one woman back-to-back on a lineup or radio playlist wouldn't sell. For its 3 summer run, it was the largest grossing concert series, out selling Lollapalooza. She named her all-women festival after Lilith, who in Jewish mythology, was Adam's first wife who was banished from the Garden of Eden for not obeying her husband.
