While everyone is freezing this morning, Ellen was nice and comfortable in her warm bed as she tagged out on a stud buck last night in the rain just before it got too nasty! The good luck train keeps rolling through for us, we can only hope it’s got a little more left in the tank to give! Stay warm everyone!

The ladies of Family Forged Outdoors are really proving to everyone why you should never mess with a girl who has a gun!! This morning Hailey killed an awesome buck to fill her ND tag just a few days after filling her MN tag both on great deer! Earlier in the week Laura and Ellen doubled up from the same stand for a great hunt with dad. Hope some of their luck starts wearing off on the rest of us here soon, but as snow is starting to fly today we can only hope that gets the deer up and moving! Everyone stay safe and warm as this cold front comes through and good luck hunting!

Hailey also wasted no time putting down a bruiser of a norther MN buck opening morning of the rifle season! The team has seen tons of rut action even with the warm temps, so we can only begin to get excited with the upcoming cold front due to hit in a few days! Since 1973 the oldest member of the Family Forged crew has gone out hunting, and now on back to back years she has hunted a total of 2 nights seen 3 deer and killed her biggest and second biggest bucks ever on opening day!! Here’s the shared story from Lane as he was there for it all!

“It was another opening night of MN rifle season that comes from your dreams! Last year Tameka and I were with grandma when she shot the biggest deer of her life on opening night! Well this year was no different, I had set up a cell cam on the scrape her buck hit last year and too my surprise this old warrior was the very first to hit it that same night! Over the course of the next month he was easily the most visible however everything was at night. Last night he made the mistake of daylighting, only 15 minutes after we crawled into the stand, and grandma wasted no time! My cell can caught one last picture of this amazing creature and 90 yards later we were sitting behind her second biggest buck on back to back years! I’m so blessed to have been able to share another amazing memory with her in the woods and hope I’m able to experience more! 2021 season is underway as Lane took advantage of an early archery hunt for Montana antelope, connecting the dots on the last morning of his hunt! Hopefully this is good luck for the rest of the season with the MN archery deer opener just one day away! Best of luck to everyone out hunting already or who will be this season!!
