The Glendive Fire Department battled two house fires Sunday afternoon. The department’s statement concerning the incident is below. Look for full coverage and photos in Thursday’s Ranger-Review.
Statement from the Glendive Fire Department’s page: Early this afternoon we were paged to a residential house fire, then almost immediately we were notified that due to close proximity a second house was also on fire. Upon our arrival we found very heavy smoke from 1 house, some smoke from the second and heavy fire between the 2 houses, unfortunately one of the houses is a total loss and unsure what the outcome of the other will be. We had 1 firefighter transported by ambulance to the ER, he was treated and later released. We would like to give a huge shout out to the Glendive ambulance for responding and being on standby "just in case" which worked out great, the Glendive Police department, Dawson County Sheriff's department and Montana highway patrol for helping with traffic control and anything else we needed on scene, it's all greatly appreciated. Also to the people who always check on us to make sure we have plenty of fluids etc.!! And as always, a huge thank you to the families and loved ones of all of our members that allow them to drop everything when the tones go off to help a stranger in need, we are fortunate to have a roster of great people on our department!
