Winter Trophy Rockfish - Chance of a Lifetime
People, we have been enjoying some of the best trophy rockfish action in the Chesapeake Bay that anyone’s seen in a decade or more. We can’t say if it will hold up for days, weeks, or the entire winter, but we do know one thing for sure: PBs have been dropping like flies during the past three weeks, and this opportunity won’t last forever. If you haven’t gotten in on the action yet tune in to this week’s Live with Lenny to find out how to make it happen!

The Fall Rockfish Bite — and What’s in Store for 2024
As the striper action cranks up for fall, many of us are wondering what next season will hold. Will the regulations shift dramatically? Will there be a spring trophy season? After we take a look at the latest intel on the current bites and how to catch these fish as the seasons change, we’ll dive into what changes we’re likely to see for 2024.
Bluefish, Snakeheads, and Redfish, Oh My!

Then we’ll be joined by Reports Editor Dillon Waters for a look at what’s hot and what’s not this week, followed by a double-cameo appearance with two special mystery guests who will be ready to talk fishing (snakeheads), and more fishing (redfish). Chunking for Tuna: Advanced Tactics
After we do a recap on recent bites in the Bay and along the coast, let’s talk tuna. Once July hits, chunking for tuna on the inshore lumps often becomes the prime way to get blood on your decks and meat in the freezer. And if the tunas set up shop on the inshore lumps, running all the way to the canyons isn’t necessary anymore. Talk about a win-win — here are some ways to make it even winnier.
A Chesapeake Perspective: Expanding Angler Access
As anglers, our access to a hot bite depends on many factors: physical accessibility, legal accessibility, and fish populations, just to name a few. And unfortunately, in many ways our access has shrunk rather than expand in recent years. We’ve seen “no fishing” signs pop up and entire months wiped off the fishing calendar. Join Angler in Chief Lenny Rudow this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. via the FishTalk YouTube channel or page, as we discuss angler access and how to improve it with our expert panel including representatives from both local and national organizations. If you’ve wondered why you can’t fish in a particular place or at a particular time — and what you can do to change that — be sure to tune in!
