This year the Natick Police Department, along with its many event sponsors and community partners, will participate in the nationwide, "41st Annual National Night Out" starting at 4pm at Memorial Field-92-108 West Street, Natick Ma. National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts; (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime.

From 4pm-8pm on August 6th, residents in neighborhoods throughout Natick and across the nation, are asked to lock there doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with their neighbors and police at this free event.

Please continue to follow us here, or on "X" for more details as the event gets closer. If you are a local business, or resident that would like to participate in some way, please contact Lt. Chad Howard at [email protected], or by calling 508-647-9516

Framingham-Natick Regional Dispatch Center Established (+ Awarded $4.3M Grant)

The City of Framingham and Town of Natick came together to establish a regional 911 emergency communication district and we're awarded a $4.3M state grant to fund the early stages of this joint venture. The target date is 2026 (to be fully operational).

Some quotes from Town of Natick leaders:

“This is an impressive example of what regional, shared services can provide to Massachusetts communities” said Natick Town Administrator Jamie Errickson. “I’m confident that this grant will accelerate this collaborative effort and I look forward to advancing the Regional Dispatch Center with our Framingham partners.”

“I would like to thank the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security State 911 Department for supporting this important effort through its grant program," said Natick Police Chief James Hicks. “Our Public Safety Dispatchers have always been the very best and well trained. This partnership will build on their professionalism and lead to a more efficient delivery of public safety services to the region. It will also create a career path for these dedicated workers that will help draw more people to this critical position in public safety operations.”

“This collaboration is an amazing opportunity to streamline critical functions and enhance the services we provide to our communities and our first responders.” said Natick Fire Chief Jason Ferschke. “We are grateful to the Executive Office of Public Safety and the State 911 Department for this opportunity”

It is odd to be the news - but I will be the City of Framingham's new Public Information Officer starting in May.

I am meeting with JVF Solutions and owner James Feudo today - who will be the new webmaster for SOURCE. James will take over as webmaster for SOURCE as of May 1.

SOURCE will move from a journalistic news site to a community bulletin board then.
I will have NO day-to-day interaction with the website.

Community organizations like the Natick Center Cultural District, the MetroWest YMCA, Morse Institute Library, PTOs, Natick Youth Hockey, and businesses like funeral homes can have logins to the site to post press releases.
Government and school entities like the Town of Natick and Natick Public Schools can also request logins.

I will help to set up logins through Saturday.
