In 2017 I had my first super successful launch. I did all the bells and whistles: the lead magnet, the challenge, the ads, the webinar!
It worked! I had my first six figures sales launch. (All of my previous launches had been on a much smaller scale).
I had 45 people enroll for a 2k course which was amazing!
My clients loved my energy, loved me, loved the offer I was promoting…
But something happened.
I wanted to make this the “ultimate” business course. I wanted to make sure all my bases were covered, that I gave up all of my knowledge to justify the $2k price point. I literally threw everything and the kitchen sink into that offer!
My clients got what they paid for… and more! I overdelivered. They had access to curriculum that could change their business forever…
But the problem was there was SOO MUCH in that course, that it became overwhelming to some folks, so they gave up and didn’t complete the course.
I didn’t understand at the time. I thought: this is so good, and I am giving so much, but I didn’t realize how important structure and catering to adult learning actually was at the time.
I had a consultant analyze my course, because of course I wanted to make it better and continue improving.
She broke it down to me like this, you have 5.5 hours of teaching in every module (there were 8!)
And apparently that was way too much!
So the next thing I did was hire someone to help me dial in my signature offer, get clear on what to include and what doesn’t have to be included. How to drive results for clients and have my course not be so overwhelming.
This changed my business going forward. And the next group course I enrolled people into had a 100% participation rate and a 80% success rate!
Meaning… 100% of students participated fully in the entire program (showed up to every call, did the work, etc) and 80% of students either hit the target of $10k or at minimum recouped their entire $3500 investment in the first 10 weeks.
If I did not shift my structure and continued to delivered mountains of content, my client results would not have been as potent.
