TOMS RIVER: Update on Sunday morning’s ’Shots Fired call;
TRPD: On Sunday morning, at approximately 12:45 AM, multiple police units were dispatched to the Days Hotel on Route 37 for a large fight in progress in the parking lot area. While responding, officers received further information regarding possible gunshots. Further investigation revealed evidence that shots were fired but no victims were struck. The Ocean County Sheriff’ Department CSI unit responded to assist in processing the scene. One male suffered a seizure during the incident and was transported to Community Medical Center by Silverton First Aid. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

TOMS RIVER: OCSN is investigating a ‘Shots Fired call that originated at the Days Hotel on NJ 37 @ Clifton early Sunday morning (12/17/23). Around 12:45 TRPD, EMS & OCSD were requested to the hotel for a report of shots fired. Unknown victims were taken to the hospital and an MOCIB alert was issued for a red suspect SUV that fled the scene.

STAFFORD (Stafford PD): During the early morning hours of October 31, 2023 the Stafford Township Police Department responded to 253 Neptune Drive for the report of a large explosion, that developed into a structure fire.

Upon arrival, officers rendered care to a male subject located on the front lawn, who sustained severe injuries. The subject was airlifted to Temple University Hospital.

The surrounding homes were evacuated until the scene was deemed safe.

The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time. The scene is currently under a joint investigation with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

We would like to thank all responding agencies at the scene including: Stafford Township Detective Bureau, Stafford Township Fire Department, Stafford Emergency Medical Services, NJ Natural Gas, Ocean County Fire Marshall, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Crime Scene Investigation, and Berkeley Hazmat Team.

STAFFORD: Details remain scant, but around 12:30 this morning a structure fire/ explosion occurred at a residence on the 200 Block of Neptune. Hazmat crews and EMS responded- but no further details were immediately made available.

TOMS RIVER: Update (Press Release) from last weekend’s assault & robbery incident @ White Castle.

TRPD: On Sunday September 17, 2023 at approximately 2:06 AM, Toms River Police were called to a restaurant on Route 37 East for a report of an injured male. Upon their arrival, the victim told them that he had been in the restroom washing his hands when he was assaulted by two males. The males then took his car keys and left in his vehicle which was parked in the parking lot. The 25-year-old male victim was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. The victim’s vehicle was located in Barnegat Township by the Barnegat Township Police. The investigation led to the arrest of Michael Fischkelta, 18 of Barnegat Township and a 17-year-old male from Barnegat Township. Mr. Fischkelta was charged with robbery, simple assault and theft, and was transported to the Ocean County Jail. Juvenile complaints were approved for the 17 year old for robbery, aggravated assault and theft. He was processed and released. All charges were approved by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Toms River Police Department would like to thank the Barnegat Township Police Department, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.

The media and the public are reminded that criminal charges are accusations only. Every criminal defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

TOMS RIVER (TRPD): Just after 1:30 this morning multiple police and fire units were dispatched to Toms River Brewing on Route 37 West for an active structure fire. The fire travelled to the front of Bacchus School of Wine causing significant damage to the exterior of the building. Multiple fire companies arrived on scene and extinguished the blaze.

There were no reported injuries at the scene. The Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention is investigating the cause of the fire.

TOMS RIVER: Reports are scant, but OCSN heard partial communications regarding a holdup & robbery @ the TR White Castle on NJ 37 around 01:00 Sunday morning. Reportedly two suspects held up the store, and possibly assaulted an employee. Two males fled in a vehicle towards Barnegat. An MOCIB bulletin was issued- No further details available at press time. We will share the press release when one comes available.
