#breaking : On Sunday, June 23, 2024 while sitting in the lobby of Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, several me LGBTQ+ community members were harassed and attacked by Beth Bourne, the Chair of the California Moms for Liberty chapter, which is also listed as a known hate group with the Southern Poverty Law Center. Bourne is also the coordinator for the Steps+ Program at University of California Davis.
The community members, who we are leaving unidentified intentionally to avoid them being further harassed by far-right extremist and hate groups are well respected performers and artists from Hawaii’s LGBTQ+ community. They were at the resort for a photo and video shoot to create promotional content for a large LGBTQ+ world renowned event that’s happening later this year.
“The video was upsetting, no question. I am proud of the performers from Hawai‘i’s LGBTQIA+ community who maintained their dignity and integrity in the face of such a hostile attack,” said Governor Josh Green, M.D. “This type of behavior is unacceptable. It is not aloha and we will not tolerate it from anyone”.

#breaking : Hawaiian Airlines, Hawaiʻi’s hometown airline, is preparing for a strong summer travel season in 2024. In preparing for the demand to and from Hawaiʻi, the carrier announced Monday that it will be increasing flights between Honolulu (HNL) and Austin (AUS), Boston (BOS), Las Vegas (LAS) and Pago Pago (PPG). The airline will also add a fourth daily flight between HNL and Los Angeles (LAX) from May 24, 2024 through Sept. 2nd.
