Regina Draper-Jeffries my great grandmother lived to see 100 years old! She was about to turn 101 Wednesday, August 19th 2026! The matriarch of our family! She outlived a lot of her family! A GOD fearing woman! She was prepared to leave this earth in her 80s. She never smoked nor drank any alcohol her entire life! Regina Draper-Jeffries my grandmother I love you so much! Always! 🙏🏾💙

This is where it all began for a lot of us DJs that came up under Carl Yelder in Louisville. Words can’t began to describe how I’m feeling right now. A lot of us began DJing with Carl Yelder when we were 14 years old in the roller rinks then the parties! 💔 prayers to Bop Junior Jackson the whole family and city and Louisville we lost a Louisville Legend tonight. 🙏🏾

With the potential closure of Robben’s Roost , I have been in the talks with the city of Louisville for several years now on getting an outdoor space created here in Louisville for Rollerskating that has moved forward and is almost complete.

I never wanted to be the face of this project nor did I want my name attached to the project; I just wanted to see something free and community based built for the city because skating has saved my life! I have met some great folks over 13 years ago threw skating that I look to as family!

I know first hand the positive impact that skating has had on my life and I wanted a space created just for that here in the city because something positive is much needed!

Folks have tried to bury my impact on the Louisville skate community, but that light can never be dimmed when you have good and pure intentions!

End of an Era.

I was let go as the DJ in 2024. I had been the DJ at Robben’s Roost for over 13 years when I was let go as the DJ in 2024.

I haven’t been back inside to Robben’s Roost since I was let go as the DJ back in 2024.

It’s surreal to see the place I grew up at closing its doors for good. A lot of shady things happened behind closed doors that I choose not to speak on.

Goodbye to my childhood home, a lot of memories made in that building. An End of an Era.
