On February 28, 2023 two trains collided in central Greece. Fifty-seven people were killed, most of them university students. Two years have passed and the government in charge of handling the disaster has NOT provided the necessary answers to the families of the victims— or to the people of Greece.
Instead of answers, what has emerged over the past two years is a scathing picture of systematic failings, human error, poor oversight, chaotic procedures, lack of coordination and an almost complete absence of truth or justice.
But the worst part of this? More than 70% of Greek citizens believe that the government is involved in a cover-up. Despite government denials, so much evidence points to a cover up.
On February 28, 2025— Hundreds of thousands of Greeks in dozens of cities and towns will come together in peaceful protests, while most businesses will not open— choosing instead to be on strike, in solidarity with the families of the victims… AND IN SUPPORT OF JUSTICE AND THE TRUTH.
Social media platforms will also go dark, including ours— in solidarity.
