Hundred of Rohingya Killed and Burned in Buthidaung

On May 2, 2024, in Koyachuri Hamlet of Dabru Chaung village in Buthidaung, the AA shot and killed hundreds of Rohingya men, women, and children and gang-raped others.
The 551 Military Battalion Cantonment used to be located in Buthidaung, but it is now under the control of AA. Later, AA ordered the Rohingya on the east and west sides to leave their villages, forcing them to flee. When the Rohingya refused to leave, the AA forcibly displaced them and vacated their villages. Subsequently, these Rohingya were taken by boats to Rakhine village.
AA vacated Rohingya villages in Buthidaung, but on May 2, 2024, the AA came to Koyachuri Rohingya village in Buthidaung to burn down the vacated Rohingya houses. They also set fire to Ywet Noe Taung village on the same day. Additionally, the AA militant group set fire to Koyachuri Hamlet of Dabru Chaung Rohingya village and indiscriminately shot fleeing Rohingya, resulting in the deaths of hundreds, including children.
Amanullah, a resident of Koyachuri, who informed us that twenty members of his family were killed by the AA on May 2, 2024.
The AA set fire to the village because on April 12, 2024, they ordered the Rohingya to leave, but when they refused, all the Rohingya in that village were brutally killed.
